Inspired by Holiday sweaters...Do you do character

Oh crap! Every year I have to buy all new Disney Tshirts for my vacation because I already have pictures of the old ones from the last vacation. Now wouldn't I look silly if I kept having pictures of myself in front of the castle in the same clothes?

That's funny, DH and I had 3 wedding in a 5 weeks span a few years ago - they were completely different people so we wore the same outfits.....when we look at the photos we can't tell who's wedding we were at.

I don't leave the house broadcasting anything across my chest.

I do have an Aslan sweatshirt, and plain blue sweatshirt with a red Mickey silouette that I wear here, because my house is cold. I bought each on a really chilly day at Disney when I was too dumb to have brought a sweater! I will wear them at our farm, too. Love it when they smell like campfire. :)

I have many character t-shirts (none pooh) I love wearing them.

DH wears tie-dye character t-shirts. We are quite a pair.

As I mentioned on the other thread, DH got it in his head when I was planning our first WDW trip that somehow I would like Disney themed clothing. :scared1: He gave me a couple of semi cute tops with Tinkerbelle or Donald Duck or Mickey and although I did not care for them I just put them away and didn't say anything. I didn't want to hurt his feelings. However, I had to draw the line when he gave me a pair of OVERALLS with Pooh on them. OMG. Now he normally knows my taste pretty well so who knows what he was smoking when he bought those. LOL. Thats when I had to just tell him that character clothing was out. :rotfl:

I just have a retro Mickey ringer tee (like the ones they sold when the park first opened) but I never wear it. Character t-shirts are really not my thing.

I have LOTS of Disney sweatshirts (but none with Pooh). I work with kids and there is no better way to break the ice than to wear a Disney shirt!!! I wear my stuff proudly in public, but not to formal occasions or church!

That really is grounds for divorce in this state. No man should ever be buying his woman overalls with pooh on them, ever ever ever! :lmao: Give me his #, he needs a call from me, the self appointed character clothing police.

I have a couple of character tshirts. . .but they are the more subtle ones. . .with the exception of my incredibles tshirt (with just the 'I' logo in the middle).

I went through a phase where I didn't wear anything with logos or pictures or any sort of marketable designation on it.

I've loosened up a bit with age, though, and now proudly wear a Mickey sweatjacket, and various t-shirts. After years of working with a lot of very uptight people who were very critical of others' dress, I am now a stay-at-home mom and dress in whatever is comfortable, clean and suits my mood of the day.

Just as a side note: DH works with one of those people who dresses well and can't abide when others don't. DH is a very casual kind of guy, so often wears character t-shirts to work. Several times this pencil-neck has mentioned to DH that he dislikes his shirts, "Can't you wear any grown-up clothing?" So DH not only tells him to unclench his cheeks, he deliberately wears those shirts when they have a meeting or lunch together. Geez, lighten up, folks! :teeth:

I have a Mickey t-shirt, a Grumpy t-shirt, and a Minnie t-shirt, they are worn places only where I think any type of t-shirt is appropriate - theme parks, at home, working out, running quick errands, etc. I don't really see the difference between character t-shirts and other t-shirts. I also recently bought a Grumpy hoodie, it also is only worn in very casual circumstances.

I used to be more worried about looking fashionable all the time, but who really cares what you are wearing when your walking the dog?

Amazing that so few people wear character clothing with the amount of money Disney has to be making of said clothing and the sheer amount of adult things you see at ALL the gift shops.

I get to wear character shirts everyday! I work in a pre-school and the kids love my clothes. :teeth:

Women in overalls= just wrong.
Women in overalls, with Pooh on them=lunacy. :teeth: :teeth:

Why would anyone wear a garment that has no lines/shape whatsoever? :confused3 :teeth: :teeth:

Heck, yeah, I wear Mickey, Minnie and definitely Pooh!!

And by the way, my Pooh shirt is much cuter than your flame suit!! ;)

Oh crap! Do you live in Delaware?????? Let me explain. Every year I have to buy all new Disney Tshirts for my vacation because I already have pictures of the old ones from the last vacation. Now wouldn't I look silly if I kept having pictures of myself in front of the castle in the same clothes? Duh! So, after a couple of years I have way too many Disney shirts & tend to wear them around the house. When I know I'm going out, I try to look a little nicer. :rotfl2:

Sorry, we're in FL. :teeth:

This really cute neighbor of ours doesn't merely wear shirts with Pooh. Heavens no! She's decked out from head to toe. Some of her favorite outfits are corduroy jumpers that have Pooh and his friends embroidered all over the front. With this she wears a turtleneck with a Disney character, character socks and usually something in her hair to pick up the theme. Of course there are wallets, day planners, pencils and other little things to carry off the outfit to perfection.

For some reason, she *always* walks over to show DH her newest Disney item...whether it's clothing or something she's acquired for her home. He just grins from ear to ear, but soon as she's gone he starts in with the remarks. :sad2: If she only knew!!! ;) We really are *extremely* fond of her. ::yes::

I have several Tinkerbell sweatshirts, one I'm constantly getting comments on (positive as in they like it and want to know where I got it) but that's it. No other characters except for Tink.

Oh, and I do have a Minnie messenger bag I use only at WDW:

A good friend of mine liked it so much she went out and got herself one too!

Nothing that I would wear outside of the house or at outside of WDW. I think when you go to WDW a lot, family members assume you want clothes with characters on them. So most were gifts.

I am always amazed even at WDW that the majority of people wear character clothes/hats/something. It is one of my favorite people watching activities. Try to find "character-free" people. I'm just thinking ch-ching for Disney with every passing person!
