I was just curious what brand and size of deep fryer that you use?

Why do you like it?

Do you see one on the market that you would like to buy now if you didn't already have one?

And can you please explain how you make your wings? Do you deep fry them and then pour the sauce on it? Or do you put it in bag and shake the sauce on?

I especially want to hear what deep fryer Alex and glo use, and how they make their sauce, and how they put it on them.

But first things first.

1. What "brand" of deep fryer do you use?

2. What "brand" would you like to buy?

3. What is you "sauce recipe".

4. How do you put the sauce on the wings?

God bless you, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

Great question, Ray! I would love to know as well! I haven't made these yet, but they sound excellent!! :)

I use a GrandPappy, it's the bigger version of the FryDaddy:D
I don't make wings in the fryer but I have a good oven wing recipe that I'll post on the low carb board.
If I were to buy another fryer I would get one that has a basket that lifts up inside. I think presto makes one.

I use one by Presto. I think it is cool touch but I am not sure. It is one of those that has the removable pot so it is easy to clean. Also the best feature I like is that you can close the lid and then lower the basket so there is virtually no chance of getting splashed with hot grease. I love it!!

For the wings I use the same recipe that everyone is talking about with the Franks sauce. It is the best I have ever come across. I was taught how to cook them that way back in 1990 when I had a manager that worked with me show me(he used to work in Buffalo!!) Now I fry them up and then I melt the butter and mix it with the sauce in a bowl. Then I put the wings in and cover the bowl and shake it up real good. Then I put them in the oven on a tray until they dry a bit. Sometimes I skip the oven part coz they smell too good to wait any longer!!

I keep it simple. I just use a deep pan on the stove and an insert that you can get almost anywhere. Make sure you use a big enough pan. I save an oil bottle and when I am done I pour it back into there.
The sauce is simple, just throw the melted butter and hot sauce in a bowl, toss the wings in there after draining them, they are hot enough to melt the butter.
In other words what mom4jenn just said :)
Sometimes when I don't have a lot of time and don't want the mess I do just use the oven. They aren't quite as good as the deep fryed ones but still better than spinach!

If you REALLY don't have time, Tyson makes a decent frozen Hot Wing that is very low in carbs as well. 16-18 minutes in the oven, and it's WINGS TIME!!!

:p

I have a FRY Daddy, and I keep the plastic lid on it to save the oil for my wings. I use the recipe right on the back of the Frank's hot sauce...a fave of mine with Marie's 0 carb Blue Cheese dressing :)

Thanks for asking this question, Ray. I really need to get a deep fryer because I think it may be a little less messy. Of course, I have no idea if it is less messy than cooking on the stove, it's just an idea I had.

I think Wilgus would love these chicken wings. I suppose I need to find me a deep fryer :)

ok now here's my question...

do you use wings from the fresh chicken section or frozen breaded ones?

Either will do fine but I do find that the frozen ones tend to shrink up quite a bit!!!

You don't want to use the breaded wings if you're doing low carb. Frozen are OK, but look for some that are unbreaded -- naked, in other words.

thanks!! i'm off to buy some naked wings!!! :teeth:

frozen breaded ones?

OOPS!!!!! Sorry I did not see the word breaded!! You can buy frozen without breading and that is all we ever buy besides the fresh ones so I guess I just overlooked the word breaded!! Sorry....I sure do not want anyone to make any mistakes because of me!!!
