Inspired by flaps - What's worse, packrats or tossers?

I'm a tosser, dh is a packrat. After just moving 1250 miles, he is seeing the need for tossing though! I hope it lasts!;)

:rotfl: :rotfl:
To get back to the original point of the thread...I think both can be an issue if they live with each other! Both DH and I are packrats, so we don't counteract each other. DH just hates that his mom "tossed" all his HO guage trains and baseball cards from the 50's! I always wonder what is best to hang onto and what is best to toss!

This is my kinda thread. I'm 150% a tosser (the American kind ;)). (Is it possible to get a high off of throwing things away?)My dh is a packrat.... I'm slowly but surely converting him to my side...

I am a packrat and there are things everywhere, while my husband is a tosser...I think tossers cause when you need something, you can't find it cause it's been thrown away. If it was somewhere in the house, you will eventually be able to find it.

I'm finally coming to the conclusion that packrats are worse to live with than tossers (and I am a BIG TIME packrat myself)

I can't tell you how many times I've ended up buying a new what-cha-ma-thingie or whosit, even though I knew I had the exact item tucked away 'somewhere'
It was just easier to spend the $$ than to try and dig through everything to find what I needed!

I know I have just the perfect little bag to go with DD's outfit today. I can picture it - just can't for the life of me remember what I did with it - so she took her stuff to her party in a plastic bag from the gap.

I should sign up for that show (is it called mission organization?) where they make you donate or yard sale most every thing - but they are a little too extreme for me - need to start slowly.

packrats are awful. I used to keep everything but converted by high school because I grew up military, moving soooo much!

I am moving my grandmother, the queen of packrats, out of her home of 35yrs. We end up screaming in the end. She is going to a space about 1/3 of what she has now. She has a box National Geographics from the 1950's and more. Exposed to elements, dirt covered and fading, wrikled pages. Still won't throw those things out!

This July 3rd...if your in the charlotte area...come by for our yardsale, tons of stuff from the 1940's to yesterday. I've purged everything! Kinda had an adrenalin rush during the process!

I've been a packrat for my whole life ... now that my parents are moving, I'm starting to see the error of my ways.
