(inspired by Dr. Phil) What did you do right out of school?

Moved in with my mom for 6 months until we got married... I just worked my two PT jobs until then. We returned from our honeymoon and moved straight to our new city, so I could work on my masters... which I'm doing now =)

I lived at home for my 4 years at college (just went to urban state universtiy); right after college I waitressed at a fast paced restaurant (already had been doing that), and in the fall I started substituted teaching. 4 months later I got married and moved to Oregon.

never went to college, went from high school to the navy, to a job. Never back home

Never went to college, went to work at the phone company 2 weeks out of HS, stayed 32 years and 2 days, got laid off and now I am retired and loving it.

Rhetorical question.............. If you didn't move "home" where do you live? Is "home" your parents house? I always thought home was where I lived, period. Oh well, this is just another one of life's mysteries.

Sorry Jason, long post.

I went to work full-time at a law office after earning my BS in Public Relations. I was deciding on Law School, and wanted to do some work in the field before committing myself to the debt. :p Which was a good plan since I decided it wasn't for me at the time. I had an apartment with two roommates but made decent money and I was able to sock some away. After a couple years I decided it was time to GROW UP and find a better job with more opportunity. I moved back to where I went to high school, lived with my mom for a couple months while I found a job (contributed to the household, thank you very much), and then was back out on my own.

And my mom paid for my first two years at UF (minus grants) and then I paid for the last 2.5 years (grants, loans, work study). Still paying those stupid loans.

I went to a military academy straight out of high school, then into the AF as soon as I graduated from college.

After DD2 was born, I was a SAHM and in the Air National Guard part time for 2 1/2 years. Recently, I was called back into the military full time to backfill someone who has to deploy to Iraq.

After grad school, BF (now DH) and I travelled Europe for two years, then lived in Mexico for 9 months where we worked for Club Med. It was a full 3 years after grad school that we came home and got "real" jobs and got married. I felt like all those years of schooling we needed a few years to find ourselves. I have no regrets. :)

I got a job witha major airline right after I graduated high school. Married DH shortly after that (I was 19). Still have that job(nearly 18yrs), still have that husband (16yrs-he's a keeper). I now have 2 children and just work part-time.

I was in the right place at the right time-- Got a job in my college major 4 weeks after graduating. Lived at home until I got married 3 years later. Looking back, the job market was wide open as compared to what my DS is going to face when he gets out of college (he's a jr. in HS).
WDW ON JUNE 24:wave: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I lived at home, got a job, and 10 months after graduation got married. :)

Graduated high school in June, was in cosmetology school in July. NO vacation for me! And it's not an area I really wanted to persue. Lasted about a year at that. Then accounts receivable 2 years, then back to business school. Yeah...that got me far. Two years ago started college. Back out and looking for a job. What a nightmare! DS is going to college directly from hs!

Right after college I travelled all over Turkey and Greece for about 6 weeks, then came home and worked retail and barbacked while trying to get my writing career off the ground.

Now 3 years out of school, I'm working at a university and getting ready to go back to school for my masters degree.

Wouldn't change a thing....

I moved out of my grandparents house the day after graduation, got a job and an apartment.

I didn't go to college until Travis was 3 years old.
