Never to keep secrets from you. Teach them to tell you if someone has asked them to keep a secret from you.

I told my kids if any ever ever ever tells them to keep a secret from me, that means the person really wants me to know the secret. I also told them if anyone ever ever ever tells them to keep a secret from me or the person would hurt me or anyone they love if they tell the secret to remember 1 important thing: Mommy has a bad temper and will take care of that idiot.
