Inspired by "cell phones on rides" thread..

In favor of installing a filter so cell phones would not work during rides & shows?

I would be 100% for this. Heck, I'd even be willing to deal with a price increase to pay for it.

I voted to filter them. Recently some churches have done that and at least one local town meeting is considering to filter. You can check your messages the minute you are off a ride and see if you need to call someone back.

For people who are the only ones that can fix a problem..what happens when you are flying in the air, or are ill and unable to use a cell phone?

I would LOVE for cell phones to not work in shows and rides.
My DH owns his own software business and he has to do a decebnt amount of work on vacation but he only does it 95% via email. Last week he did have to call 1 client but it was after the email progressed and we were back at the room. So even though I understand peoples need for THEIR cell phones it does not make it OK for ME to have to be disrupted. Your "rights" should not supercede my enjoyment of the park.
I always notice where everyone who admits to using their cell phone at WDW always say they never use it on rides or attractions - then who are these people who do every time we go?????

I'd like to think that most members of the DIS are either already thoughtful or become more so when they read that a behavior is bothersome. It must be everyone else who is talking so much. :)

I vote yes. If anyone needs me, my phone will vibrate after I'm out of the attraction. Cell phones are constantly going in and out of area in the course of a day. If you are too important to answer a phone after the attraction is done, you should prob. sit on a bench somewhere and just stare at the bars to make sure you're not losing your signal.

Just so you know, it is currently illegal in the US to jam a cell phone signal.

This is the first year my husband has agreed to fly. Normally we drive two days to get to Disney. We set it up that we have three stops during the flight. Also, he has a phone and pager with him at all times---bathroom, bedroom, you name it. This is just our life. Do I wish the company had a back up, YES. But right now they have him and that is the way it is.

I want to repeat that I agree that cell phones should never be used on rides, in church, in meetings, etc... Unfortunately we have a society that does not care how they act. We have all been places were it is clearly posted to set all cell phones to silent, and atleast one person does not do this. The habits of a few should not punish everyone else who follows the rules.

I don't know enough anough about the law or what I was reading to know if what the URL is talking about pertains to filters. I just know that it's been on the news a lot lately, that several churches have put in filters, and other places are being mentioned. Some schools are also adding them, so there must be more to it than what this says.
