What kind of lights do you put on your tree?

I used to put on white candle lights, but it is so hard to get them to stand upright. I'd get into a bad mood about five minutes after I'd start putting them up.

So then I started using just plain white lights.

Then the kids came along and DH insisted on multi-colored lights. We compromised. I let him put up the multi-colored on the tree, but our outdoor lights have to be all white. (Can you tell I'm not crazy about multi-colored lights?)

Our tree has blue and white lights.

Multi Coloured for us:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I love a tree with tons of white lights (like 1000 or more), however, that it's our tree. I don't have the patience for putting them all on and having 1/2 of them not work.:( It got to the point where I didn't look forward to doing it anymore so it was time to move on.

Our tree the last couple of years has had the old fashioned (size C7, I think) lights on it. That way when one burns out, the entire string doesn't go out. Makes it really easy to fix the bulb which is out.:D I need more simple things around the holidays.

All white, and no blinking here...don't care for mulitcolored or blinking.

I like multicolored lights, and I like blinking lights, but my family likes white, that don't blink. Next year, I will have a tree of my own ( I still live at home, will be moving out in a couple of months) and I will have what I want.

All white. The tree is all white and gold

multi-colored..we did all white for years but now I love all of the different colors:D

I'm a multi colored person. And I'm going to try and find a c7 string to put on the tree. They last forever, and i've always loved them.

Multi-colored on our tree. 10 strands of 100 lights each. Our DSIL taught us a new way to put lights on the tree, his family had been doing it for years. They wrap the lights around the tree branches, in and out, rather than just stringing them 'round and 'round. It takes awhile, but makes such a pretty effect. DH grudgingly has done it that way for 3 years but said he won't this year. :( Says it's too time consuming and it's ruining the branches (harder to take the lights off so some of the "needles" are falling off). So, I fear the lights will be just draped 'round and 'round this year, darn it. Maybe it's time for one of those nice pre-lit trees, with lots and lots of lights.

Well we just bought an artificial tree, my son calls it the "ghetto" tree :) Anyway, we got all white and it has 16 light settings, but the setting I like best is where they kind of twinkle. It's very mesmerizing!!!

We have 3 trees every year, as sort of a compromise for everyone's tastes. I have "my" artificial tree, that has the good Radko and hand blown ornaments, with white lights. Then we have a real tree that the kids decorate with colored lights. And I have a minature artificial tree that sits on my dining room table, also with white lights, with minature ornaments.

We like Christmas decorations around here, obviously. :) Oh, and white lights outside, with white lit candles in the window.

real candles in special clip on bases. Are lit only on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.

Right now I have red/green/white, and I love how it looks. I got them 8 years ago and some of them have gone out. Unfotunately I cant find them anywhere any more so I cant replace them. Im not sure how much longer Ill be able to arrange them around the tree so it looks like enough. :(
