Inspired by being a thread highjacker- the OT thread!

Well I'm at least glad that my DH has gotten out of his death metal phase. That was pretty mad having to listen to bands like Death, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse... And all of that other growley heavy crap. He still liked to turn on some Iron Maiden though, but at least they aren't growly, and someo f the songs are funny... But I don't think they're supposed to be.
Did you, by any chance, keep the hampster near the stereo?

I was very into Iron Maiden, Ozzy Ozbourne, AC/DC, Whitesnake, etc. But I never heard of Napalm Death or Cannibal Corpse.

Cannibal Corpse. I am so sad that I totally know who you are talking about.

Dh's brother is more into that stuff than he is, but I still hear about it. Yuck.
Back when I used to take guitar lessons, my guitar teacher would always play Cannibal Corpse to pick on me b/c he knew I didn't like them. This was the same guy that turned me on to Fiona Apple. Go figure. :confused3 :teeth:

I watched 'The Wall' one time and it made perfect sense. I was also baked, laying on my back and watching it upside-down while doing shots of peppermint schnapps from a test tube. true story. :)

You have no idea how different "metal" is from "death metal" then. Don't bother finding out.

I like Ozzy and AC/DC.... death metal is a whole other story.

I have long figured that's about the only way it could make sense. A friend and I watched it after school on the VCR and kept waiting for it to get good. Then it was over and we were like, wth? It's been 21 years, I still remember how bad it was!

I watched it one time too. The first time I smoked pot. And I about peed myself when he shaved his nipple off.

It still gives me the shivers just thinking about it.

And you'd have to be baked and drunk and upside-down for it to make any sense whatsoever.

Isn't that in the manual?

Alas, I was only 15 when I watched it. Not that if I paid the membership fee now, got the manual, and watched it again, I have any confidence that I'd get it this time around either...

Ok... Is it just me or did the DIS DISappear for a while last night?

the first time you smoked pot was when you were 15? I'm telling your parents.

:sad2: Yeah. And The last time was when I was 17. I smoked pot a grand total of 3 times. The last time scared it out of me.

You can tell em if you want- it won't be news. I relish telling my mom all the things I did in High School that she didn't know about!! :rotfl:

Really, though, I was a dream child. I was in the National Honor Society, top 10% of my class, smoked pot and was too scared to try anything else, didn't smoke cigs (still don't-blech), drank every once in a while but NEVER drove or rode with anyone who had been drinking. Tons of activities. Thought boys my age were too immature to date. Didn't have sex in HS.

So, Mom couldn't complain too much. PLUS- compared to my little sis and little bro, she KNOWS I was a cakewalk!! :teeth:

I love all dogs, but small dogs can sit in your lap and stuff.

Doesn't it look like this dog could be a lap dog? This is one of my babies--Sheena. She has quite the rough life. She's not allowed on the couch. :rotfl2: We gave up on that rule ages ago. :teeth: And yes, she tries to weasel her way onto our laps, which is fine since only one of our f cats is a lap cat.

Now thats one comfortable looking pouch.,T&B. :thumbsup2 :teeth:

Geez, I missed a lot of posting last night! And I was worried that posting about screwing a driver would get the thread removed. :rotfl: I think that I'm going to skip over talking about my partying days, especially since I'm almost twice the age of some of you. I'm depressed now. Maybe I should go read some perimenopause brochures. :rotfl2:
