Inspirational Disney Songs

I am listening to the song "When You Find Yourself" by Brad Paisley for like the 1000th time since I first heard it in the Disney Pixar movie "Cars". Even now after all this time, I still get misty eyed.

So I was wondering, what other songs from Disney movies or TV shows do you find to be surprisingly inspirational?

Okay now I'm going to feel like a big dork. But ever since my oldest (graduating high school this week) watched her Cinderella video 43,000 times in a row when she was 2...I have run around either humming or singing one of the songs from that movie.

i did not like the movie Hercules but I did like the song, You can go the distance.

I just made a movie/slideshow of our Scouts at their graduation and Blue and Gold Banquet with that song attached.
Yep, I cried.

Great question! I am inspired by many songs from Disney movies, but the first one that came to mind is God Help the Outcasts from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. To me, the song speaks of tolerance and acceptance.

My FAVORITE inspirational Disney song is "He Lives In You" from Lion King 2. I can listen to it over and over, and bawl every time!!! Love the music, love the lyrics!!!

It's not in the movie, but on the Hercules soundtrack, there is a song by Micheal Bolton called "Child of my heart" which I LOVE. I also like the country version of "One Day, Someday Soon" from Hunchback. Not sure who sings it, it's on the 'Best of Country sings The Best of Disney" album.

I've always loved Reflection from Mulan, especially Christina Aguilera's version of it which is slightly different than the movie's if I recall correctly.

I love Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon. Helen Reddy sings it beautifully. It always makes me misty-eyed!

Silly me has been listening to the Allison Krause version of "Baby Mine" for like 10 minutes now (as I like playing it over and over too ) and I just remembered that the original song was from the Disney movie Dumbo. I get misty every time I hear this song too.

Inspirational for a different reason:

"On My Way" from Brother Bear is a family staple. DS IS Koda...energetic and never stops talking so we always picked him as DS's character. The song always reminded us of him when we're on our way to WDW so now we play it loud and long when we're heading to the airport for our vacations.

Gosh there are so many. I love "Colors of the Wind" by Vanessa Williams. It really talks about the beauty of this earth. I also love "Reflection" with Christina Aguilera. From "The Little Mermaid" I love "Part of Your World" by Jodi Benson. It really relates...you have everything but you want more.

I love Disney music.

I love "Circle of Life" from the Lion King. I find it particulary poignant where it says "Some of us fall by the wayside...while some of us soar to the stars." It makes me think of my cousin who died in a car accident with a question of suicide. Don't know why that song except she did love nature, etc. I just love that song.

This is one I was thinking of. I also enjoy "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story. It is a really sweet song.

I love the song from Pocahontas - I think it's called "Colours of the Wind?"

And that reminds me of how much I loved "True Colours" when they used to play that at the beginning of JIYO.

I was an instructor at US Space Camp for Educators for a couple of summers in 2003 & 2004 in Alabama, and we always used "Go the Distance" for Hercules for our slide show of the week with the teachers at graduation. We had them crying every week! (Usually, the staff was crying right along with them!)
