I was responding to TL's thread about quiche, and it reminded me about the first time we ever tried to make quiche at home.
What we ended up with was a cheesey bacon pie. It wasn't exactly quiche, but it sure was good:D Same thing with a dish called Mexican Lasagna. We had the dish at the home of friends, but when we tried to make it, it was entirely different...but really good. Anybody else have mutant recipes?

All of the recipes I try to copy turn out to be mutant recipes. :o Unfortunately they don't always mutate to the favorable side.  :o :p

Not quite a "mutant" situation, but ironically, Tiggerlover had posted a cookie press recipe in response to my post, and while my cookie press did not cooperate, I ended up using the dough and forming cookies by hand, and discovered that they made great almond cookies!!
