:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Do you really want to get me started? :rotfl2:

I'm full of 'em. Let's face it, that's the real reason I had kids, so I appear more normal. :teeth:

"Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyabba-dabba-doooooooo!"

Flintstones... Meet the Flintstones,
They're a modern stoneage family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.

Let's ride with the family down the street.
Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet.

When you're with the Flintstones,
have a yabba dabba doo time,
a dabba doo time,
we'll have a gay old time

Flintstones... Meet the Flintstones,
They're a modern stoneage family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.

Someday, maybe Fred will win the fight,
And that cat will stay out for the night.

When you're with the Flintstones,
have a yabba dabba doo time,
a dabba doo time,
we'll have a gay old time

"Wiiilllllmmmmmmaaaaaa!!!" bang bang bang

OH---and my favorite:

Oh Playmate, Come Out and Play With Me

Say, say, oh playmate,
Come out and play with me
And bring your dollies three
Climb up my apple tree

Shout down my rain barrel
Slide down my cellar door
And we'll be jolly friends
Forever more more more more more

Say, say, oh playmate
I cannot play with you
My dolly's got the flu
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo

Ain't got no rain barrel
Ain't got no cellar door
But we'll be jolly friends
Forever more more more more more

Row row row your boat gently down the stream....

After 3 years of working in a daycare center (with infants, no less) I can honestly say I stopped counting all the children's songs I know. For some reason as I was cleaning the kitchen table the other day (mind you it's been almost 2 years since I've worked with children) I was singing "My blanky lies over the ocean" sung to the tune of "My bonnie lies over the ocean" from Barney - heaven help me.

I love the Sesame Street songs from the old shows. The Rubber Ducky song lyrics above brought back nice memories. My DS watched that show all the time when he was little. I read that the writer of the SS theme song passed away recently... :guilty:

Sunny day, sweeping the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street

And I used to know all the lyrics to Puff, the Magic Dragon
That is one of my all time favorite children's songs!

Yep...........nine years in Pre-Kindergarten here (as a teacher, not a student!), have left me with way more than my share..............

Barney is one of my best inspirations.......the clean up song is great, then this little ditty, I even use with my 2nd graders:

Always stop, look and listen
before you cross the street
Use your eyes and ears
before you use your feet!

I know the ENTIRE Mary had a little lamb.........no, it doesn't stop with "its fleece was white as snow"
..........and many other nursery rhyme songs

The "monkey" songs.......5 jumping on the bed, 10 swinging in the trees......countdown songs, like 10 in the bed

This one was a great fave and had two versions in my class (the other starred Tyrannosaurus Rex):

I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor
I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor
I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor
and I don't like it very much.

Oh, no!
He swallowed my toe!
Oh no!
He swallowed my toe!

Refrain

Oh, gee!
He swallowed my knee!
Oh, gee!
He swallewed my knee!

Refrain

Oh, fiddle!
He swallowed my middle!
Oh, fiddle!
He swallowed my middle!

Refrain

Oh, heck!
He's up to my neck!
Oh, heck!
He's up to my neck!

Refrain

Oh, dread!
He swallowed my head!
Oh, dread!
He swallowed my head!

Refrain,
then "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" crescendoing, as you "jump" out of the boa constrictor.

I was being eaten by a boa constrictor
I was being eaten by a boa constrictor
I was being eaten by a boa constrictor
and I didn't like it very much!

Are we counting Disney songs?

My DD6's favorite cartoon: Scooby Doo!

Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where Are You? We got some work to do now.
Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where Are You? We need some help from you now.

Come on Scooby-Doo, I see you... pretending you got a sliver
But you're not fooling me, cause I can see, the way you shake and shiver.

You know we got a mystery to solve, so Scooby Doo be ready for your act.
[Scooby Doo] Uh-uh Uh-uh
Don't hold back!
And Scooby Doo if you come through
you're going to have yourself a scooby snack!
That's a fact!

Scooby-Dooby-Doo, here Are You. You're ready and you're willing.
If we can count on you Scooby Doo, I know you'll catch that villian.

Lazytown is a big thing, too!
Theme:
Bing bang diggiriggidong
First thing that I say after I wake up.
Bing bang diggiriggidong
I say those words before I go to sleep.

Get on up it's time to dance yeah.
It's so much fun being up on our feet.

So we go
Up up -- do the jump
Move around and clap your hands together.
Down down -- turn around
Having fun is what it's all about.

Bing bang diggiriggidong
Funny words I sing when I am dancing.
Bing bang diggiriggidong
Silly words that can mean anything.

Get on up it's time to dance yeah.
It's so much fun being up on our feet.

So we go
Up up -- do the jump
Move around and clap your hands together.
Down down -- turn around
Having fun is what it's all about.

Ooohh
One two -- me and you,
Move around and clap your hands together.
Three four -- on the floor,
Having fun is what it's all about.

On the Sesame Street movement...

Somebody come and play. Somebody come and play today. Somebody come and smile the smiles and sing the songs, it wont take long. Somebody come and play today.

:) I still have the album with all their songs on it. :)

As for today...we know the Dragon Tales songs & all of the High-5 songs. I took the kids to their concert & we were all singing along. LOL!

my friends and husband would say 'FAR TOO MANY'-in fact dh often calls to ask me lyrics to tv cartoon theme songs when these odd conversations come up at his work.

off the top of my head-

the archies
dastardly and mutley
mighty mouse
beenie and ceicel
the banana splits
hr puffinstuff
speed racer
kimba the white lion
funky phantom
electric company
zoom (the old theme song)
pee-wees playhouse
muppet show
hot wheels (i think it only ran a half a season on saturday mornings)
new zoo review...
lots of tv commercial songs too (the kids hate it when i start singing "underroos are fun to wear, something super cool in underwear" :teeth: and loads of old sit-coms (patty duke, nanny and the professor, love american style).

can you tell i was an adolescent tv junkie?

Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea.
He frolicked in the autumn mist of a land called Honah-lee.
Now little Jackie Paper, he loved that dragon Puff.
He gave him string and sealing wax and other fancy stuff.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sails.
Jackie kept a lookout from Puff's gigantic tail.
Kings and queens and princes would bow when e'er he came.
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name.

Now, dragons live forever, but not so little boys.
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys.
So one sad day it happened, little Jackie came no more.
Puff slipped into his cave and ceased his fearless roar.

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his life-long friend, Puff could not be brave,
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave. oh!

Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea and frolicked in the autumn mist of a land called Honah-Lee....

:) IIRC, there was an animated film based on the song. I seem to remember our local library having a copy of it on VHS somewhere when I was a kid.

TOV

Way too many, and it can be useful for making the coworkers laugh...

TOV, I saw your Sesame Street ones and I started thinking of a Cookie Monster song

If me knew you were coming, me'd have baked a cake
baked a cake, baked a cake
If me knew you were coming me'd have baked a cake
how'd you do, how'd you do, how'd ya do

Then I saw the Zoom mention and I always pop up with
send it to zoom
box 350
boston, mass O 2 1 3 4
send it to zoom

And someone else made me think of Wonderama, so that song's been floating around my head.
And so we hope you'll understand
and try to lend a helping hand
kids are people
kids are people
kids are people, too

then there's the good old magic garden
It's nice to say hello, hello, hello
It's nice to say hello
hello and how are you?
I'm fine
me too
we're fine and how are you?
I'm fine
me too
we're fine and how are you...

Uh oh, I'm going to have kid songs going through my head for the rest of the night!

Suzanne

don't get me started
I know more kids songs than kids do. :rotfl:

For whatever reason, I am CONSTANTLY singing things to the tune of

Do your ears hang low
Do they wobble to and fro
Can you tie em in a knot
Can you tie em in a bow
Can you throw them over your shoulder
Like a continental shoulder
Do your ears. hang. low?

I sing/hum/whistle this tune all the time. And I don't even have kids. I have nieces, but they are into Hilary Duff, not Do your ears hang low.

The Princess Pat
Lived in a tree
She sailed across
The seven seas

She sailed across
The channel, too
and brought with her
A rig o' bamboo.

A rig o' bamboo.
Now what is that?
It's something made
by the Princess Pat

It's red and gold...
and purple, too...
That's why it's called
A rig o' bamboo.

Now Captain Jack
had a mighty fine crew
He sailed across
the channel, too.

But his ship sank,
and yours will, too.
Unless you have
A rig o' bamboo.

The Bear Song (The other day, I met a bear, Out in the Woods, A-way out there)

The Ship Titanic (all the kiddies screamed and cried, but they all went down and died)

Boom Chick-a-Boom (With Soul!)

The Washington Waddle (get the tune in your noddle, let your feet have fun!)

Vadatenchu (Ittn bitten little ditten, bobo skedeedle daten, ishkabidilly oatin dotin vadatenchu)

Father Abraham (had 7 sons, and 7 sons had father Abraham)

The Fishy Song (did you ever see a fishy do the hootchie-kootchie dance? You ne-ver did, you never will!)

Little Bunny Foo Foo (hoppin throught the forest, scooping up the field mice and boppin 'em on the head)

The Grand Old Duke of York (he had 10,00 men)

Waddliachi (Doodley-Doo)

The Little Blue Man (I love you! I love you! said the little blue man)

Ram-Sam-Sam (ooey, gooey, ooey, gooey, ooey, Ram-Sam-Sam)

Be Kind to Your Web-footed Friends (for a duck may be somebody's mother)

Pink Pajamas (in the summer when it's hot, and I wear my pink pajamas in the winter when it's not)

I Wish I Were a Little Bar of Soap (I'd go slidey, slidey, slidey over everybody's hiney)

Oh, my gosh, I can't remember them all!

:rotfl2:

There are many kids songs that I will just sing for the fun of it. Usually just to make the sweetpea laugh or to break some slience and kill boredom. The ones I usually like to sing are:

Hurry hurry drive the fire truck
Hurry hurry drive the fire truck
Hurry hurry drive the fire truck
ding ding ding ding ding

I like to eat eat eat apples and bannanas

Clean up Clean up everybody everywhere
Clean up Clean up everybody do their share

La de da de da La de da de da
Whats the name of that song?

Be my echo (be my echo)
