Just wondering...I graduated in 1991 ( ) and besides a couple emails from friends once a year or so there are only 3 people I still have regular contact from high school with. What is ironic is the one I talk to daily on IM with was never a great friend during HS, just an aquaintance really.

One of my sisters still knows about everyone she was friends w/ during HS, they all work and live close together 25 years later.

Since the other thread made me realize I have another reunion looming I was thinking about who all I'd be seeing. :scratchin

My experience has been similar to your sister's. I've always lived in the same part of town I grew up in, close to the high school I (and my husband) attended. My younger son graduated there two years ago, and going to parents' night was always fun - I'd run into dozens of former classmates who's kids were current students also.

We're having a reunion this summer, with the two classes ahead of us.

I was homeschooled 2-11 went to school 12th grade only. I made like 1 friend, we are no longer in contact.

I recently talked with one friend from high school. Other than that I don't keep in touch and I just graduated three years ago.

My 5 year reunion is approaching and I can honestly say that I don't keep in touch with any one from my class besides DF. We knew each other in high school but didn't start dating until college...as for everyone else...high school wasn't the best experience for me. My school was extremely competitive and very hard to say the least, if anyone tries to get in contact with me it is usually to compare lives, and that is really not my cup of tea. :confused3

I have a student in my 7th grade class who is the son of a girl I graduated with.

My DH was also in my class.

I send Christmas letters to another high schooler but that's about it. :)

The only person I have kept in contact with is a girl I went to school from K-12 with. She lived the street behind me, and her mom was good friends with my mom. BTW, I graduated HS in 1982 (Yes, I'm old!)

She moved from IN to Kissimmee right after college, and we just exchanged Christmas cards for years. But anytime we visited WDW, we tried to meet for a meal.

Now that I'm down in Tampa, we had lunch at Christmas, and we're planning on spending some time together this summer.

And yes, even though we grew up together, we weren't good friends in HS. But now, I'd say we've got pretty compatible interests. Funny how life works out, isn't it?

We aren't in close contact, but when I'm in town I go to lunch with a friend from HS. We catch up and it's great. About every 5yrs we have a reunion. Two years ago we had our 30th clss reunion and all the guys moaned & groaned about havnig to dress up, paying for the meal, etc. After listening to this at every reunion the 6 women on the committee said "we're done" and decided to only have reunions for the women! In fact, we're getting together in 10 days for a weekend at the beach, no men allowed.

I have a friend from HS that I see every couple of years. She lives in California and I still live in Indiana. We don't write, but everytime we see each other we pick up like I just saw her last week!! I don't live far from where I graduated from, but I really don't see many people.

My DM is still best friends with her friend from the 3rd grade!!! They are both in their 70's now, but talk on the phone weekly and visit each other several times a year!

Three of my closest friends from high school are still my friends. Still friends with my best friend from high school too, but our lives have taken very different paths.

My first day on my college campus, I started working at the radio station a month before classes started. The first two people I met are still my friends.

I was always the brainy/nerdy kid without a lot of friends, but most of the friends are STILL my friends over 20 years later!

Ironically, someone I did NOT get along with in school is now an email pal. We live three hours from each other and will probably meet up on my way to Key West one of these days.

I've had the same best friend since I was 8 years old. She still lives in our home town, and even though I don't live there anymore (I moved away a couple of years after we graduated) we talk often and I go back to see her and some of my family that still lives there every chance I get.

I have another high school friend who I lost touch with for years, but we started talking when we were planning our 25th  reunion last year, and now we talk on the phone often and get together for lunch every few weeks.

A lot of people my DH and I went to high school with chose to move back and raise their children in this town so a lot of my DD's parents we went to high school with. It's a little weird how they wouldn't give us the time of day in high school and now they are wanting to get together to do things. :confused3

pixiedust: I am still in contact with 1 best friend I had all thru school, and dh of course !!! :woohoo:

I moved 800 miles away from where I went to high school. There are two or three people I keep in touch with from time to time, and exchange Christmas cards with, but that's it.

Rex Rules, if you read this

I keep in touch with a couple of friends from HS. Not has often as I would like to though.

I keep in contact with about 2 people. When I started high school my older brother's g/f was a Sr. so I hung out with all those guys. And because of that I got to know the Jr.'s and so forth, so by the time I got to be a Sr. myself I didn't hang out with anyone except for a couple of friends I've known since elementry school. Plus I worked in Pizza Hut so I was always working on the weekends.

I went to a private girls high school (we had a brother school and had classes with boys though) and I only had 12 girls in my graduating class! My very best friend and I still talk every day by phone and try to see one another at least once a year since she's in NY and I am in Fl. I graduated in 1986....another HS friend from NY moved down here 2 years ago after visiting us many times and I talk to her weekly and see her too. Other than that, there are a fwe I email with and that's it.

I graduated in 1994 and I am still best friends with 2 of my friends from high school and another one from grade school (well, actually even before that).

I have 2 1/2...lol...

DH is one. I talk to him everyday! ;)

My very best friend from my senior year of high school...she and her family recently moved out to the Seattle area though...we exchange e-mails when we can...

The 1/2...I think I'm just another name on her e-mail address book. She never sends me real e-mail...just a bunch of forwarded crap...lol...she was my best friend throughout freshman and sophomore years, but we kind of drifted apart when we moved to Arizona before my junior year.

I do have a few other friends that I exchange occasional e-mails with, but not on a regular basis. Just every now and then...

Forgot to add...I graduated in 1991 too! :)
