insider about free dinning!!...????

Woo Hoo!:cool1: Let's hope so. For us that would save us $1023.68 off of our pkg. Yes, I've got it figured out down to the penny. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, we'll be there for 8 nights at AKL in Sept. Can't wait!

just curious 'cause i've heard that the DDP doesn't really save money at a deluxe resort 'cause if you can get a room discount w/out the free dining, but pay rack rate w/the free dining, oftentimes the difference between the room rates doesn't offset the cost of the dining plan... have you done the math figuring in the more expensive room (unless you're paying rack rate already, then it truly is a savings!) :)

It just really depends on your family size, their ages and dining style. I'm too tired to do the math right now but it ended up being about $400 less to get Free Dining as opposed to the 40% off room only code WDW emailed us. For my SIL, it was more cost effective to go with the 40% discount. The difference is that she and her husband have only a 5 year old daughter and I have 3 teenage boys who practically eat me out of house and home.:rotfl:

For two adults only the 40% off was more than the cost of 2 x DDP one year. YOu yave to do the maths.

Please note that this is a direct violation of DIS policy. It it what the moderators call a filter violation.

This is important reading for anyone posting on the DIS:

It's good that you clarified that. In reading the guidelines it only directly refers to filtering profanity. It doesn't mention the link filters. Thanks.:goodvibes

I think the moderators consider pointing readers to competitors' websites to be even worse than profanity! :lmao:

:tink: :tinker:
It was a 3 night min. last year, but they advertised it as 5 night/ 6 days - $4xx... If I can remember correctly!

GOOD LUCK to you!!! ME TOO!!! The Food is great on the DDP we are going down on Sept. 7-17th a day longer than last year just because we love DISNEY!!!!! SO HERE IS SOME PIXIE DUST FOR EVERYONE :ti:cheer2: nk:

Hi bicker, I'm a little confused (as usual:rolleyes:). I read the guidelines, and it says:

"Before posting a link to another site, we ask that you please first check to see if the same information is available on www.wdwinfo.com. We take great pride in our website. While we make the boards available for your enjoyment, our focus is Disney travel planning.

What if the information isn't on the DIS website? The PP was talking about something -- a rumor? -- they had specifically read on another site. Or what about menus? If a menu has been updated 2/07 or 3/07 on another site and the most recent update here is 9/06, then that more current info isn't here -- are we supposed to avoid mentioning the other site?

I'm asking because when I first started planning our WDW trip and posting on various boards in January, another board's moderator sent me an email nicely scolding me for mentioning the DIS boards

:sad1: I'm so sorry if I have done anything wrong. It will not happen again. I hadn't seen this info on the Dis boards and just thought I would share. Again, I'm very sorry.

If a work comes up with all asterisks, the word has been filtered. Trying to find ways around a filtered word is a violation.

It is ok if you do not know that a word is filtred when you post, but please do not go back and try to get around the filter. That is a violation of guidelines.

Hope that helps!

Hi I was just reading your info and am exciting about the prospect of free dining. Just wondering though...My reservations are beginning before the date you mentioned but in fact run into the time frame when dining may be offered. Do you need to rebook to get dining for the remainder of you time? Say ..if its available for the second half of my trip. ALSO, CANT YOU SEND A PRIVATE EMAIL TO SOMEONES EMAIL ADDRESS WITH THE SITE INFORMATION THEY ARE LOOKING FOR?

I think the moderators have only put certain competitors' websites in the filter. It is only those that they don't want members posting links to.

Like I said " I am very sorry about all this. It will not happen again." I thought maybe I had miss typed the website when it did not show up. As I have not posted as much as others and they asked me to just write it out, so I thought it would be ok. I will just be reading the post's from now on and not posting myself. { I said it was just a rumor.} I DID NOT try and get around the rules. I would never do that. :hippie:

Okay, I found the other site this morning. It sounds like a reliable source. Especially since she was trying to be all hush hush about it. Too bad for me (visiting Aug. 6-12). Maybe Disney will offer the earlier part of August a little later. I just typed info into my browser and found it. :surfweb:
