Inside stateroom ?

I really really want to do the Disney magic next year but cannot justify the prices for a verandah stateroom . Is staying in an interior stateroom really that bad ?
I'm thinking we won't be spending much time in the rooms anyway. Honest opinions please !
I have stayed in inside, verandah and even concierge suites. While concierge is awesome you won't have a bad time with an inside. I am sailing an inside next month on the Magic and in no way will it be any lesser of a trip. The only thing I suggest to people is if you have young kids who nap and/or go to bed early at night then strongly consider a verandah because, as mentioned, you'll get a lot of use of it when the child is sleeping and you're awake. Do the interior, you'll have a blast!

We've stayed inside twice and both were great! The 2nd trip was on the Wonder and we chose one of the sideways cabins and we would do that again in a heartbeat! Felt bigger with lots of room to move around.

I have been on 19 cruises. 15 have been inside. Some people will tell you the better the stateroom you have the more time you will spend inside your stateroom. Might be true but I don't go on a cruise to spend extra time in the stateroom. I use the stateroom for the 5 things that start with the letter S.

Everyone has a standard. To me, concierge and cabanas are a waste and I have no desire to utilize either. Some people feel that they are necessities.

However, I would never consider an interior room (or an ocean view.) Verandahs, in my opinion, are an essential part of my cruise experience. Why take a cruise when you can't experience the view and sounds at all times? I would rather not cruise than have an interior room. I would certainly choose another line over Disney if my budget was limited to an interior room.

OP, only you can decide whether you will enjoy an interior room. Certainly not my intent to talk you out of it, but want to give you another perspective as most who have responded seem to enjoy (or at least tolerate) an interior room.

No it's not bad.

I'm cruising with a friend who is claustrophobic and must have at least a window, so that one is oceanview...Oceanview is actually pretty reasonable on the larger ships.

Does not matter to me whether I can go outside from my stateroom at all. I'm not in the stateroom all that much.

I think it depends on how many people/how long the cruise. We did a four night on the Dream with 2 adults and 2 children and were fine. It was little cramped (mostly because I have an 11 year old who is over six foot tall and clumsy) but we spent hardly anytime in the room. We are going on a 7 night on the Fantasy in December with an extra kid and we booked a Family Stateroom with Verandah (the one with the murphy bed). Not just because of the extra kid, but also we would be onboard more. We thought about getting connecting inside staterooms, but we weren't completely comfortable with that considering the kids.

I sailed in an inside room during one of my cruises not preferred but would absolutely do it again especially with the Disney Porthole display they have. The only real negative I see to the inside room is that my wife and I slept in too long due to how dark it stayed. :)

I can only think of 3, what am I missing? (also the only 3 things I plan on using the room for, besides getting dressed and I don't know an S word for that, also perhaps storage? it would be for that too)

Sleep, shower, shave, sex, going number 2

My honest opinion is inside rooms suck. I stayed in an inside once and I hated it...it was the only time I had ever felt claustrophobic in my life, it was like being buried alive in a small coffin lol. I won't cruise unless I have at least a port hole. Give me some natural light!!

We have sailed in standard inside, deluxe inside, sideways inside, and now because DH needs accessible accommodations, accessible inside.
DH does spend time in the cabin during the day, and just needs a bed, a tv and an accessible bathroom. I just adjust
to the darkness and just go up on deck if I need fresh air. Inside now works for us since we now can cruise more often.
I didn't like the inside accessible cabins on the Dream, Fantasy on deck 2. They were very noisy. Lots of banging and
creaking and door slamming. Our next cruises are on the Magic.

We had an inside on our first cruise and are doing one again. After booking, prices went down on our cruise and I could have gotten a verandah for $300 less than I paid for my inside room. I tried talking my DD9 into it, but she is terrified of having a verandah. She is afraid she's going to fall overboard! The inside was great though, especially with the magic porthole. It is fun for kids.

My vote goes to oceanview... it's like a climate controlled verandah.

Deck 2 for the larger oceanviews on the Wonder. Midship oceanviews are bigger than the ones at the end.
