We will be at WDW next weekend-dd8(ASD) doesn't know. After hearing about the special holiday tag at the end of Illuminations I looked it up on U tube and dd and I watched it together it was OK until the end when they let the motherload go. Her comment at the end was That was awesome!!! I asked her if she thought she could watch something like that and got a quick no. When we go to WDW we take earplugs and she is able to do Fantasmic and Wishes for 4th of July she atches the fireworks from inside the car. She tries to be outside but she just can't do it. She loves the fireworks but can not deal with the noise. Is there someplace at EPCOT to view Illuminations inside without having to do a table service meal as she does not do well with TS meals more then once a trip and we are doing Chef Mickey's. I did happen to see some sound blocking headphones at WalMart this morning I may go back and get some to try in addition to the earplugs...I am not trying to force her into doing something she doesn't want to I just want to give her the "tools" so she try. She ALWAYS has the option to stop.Besides this will be her 8th trip it's not like we won't go back....Thank you in advance for any suggestions!!!

I can think of only three restaurants with a view of the World Showcase lagoon and Illuminations - Bistro de Paris, Rose & Crown and the Sushi bar in Japan (whatever the new name is). All are table service. If you don't have a window table, other guests might not appreciate your daughter squeezing between their table and the window to watch the fireworks (My wife & I certainly didn't appreciate the young boy jostling our table, our food and our wine at Bistro last trip!!!) They sometimes open the windows so that diners can hear the fireworks.

I believe that earplugs and sound deadening headphones are the only way to go.

One suggestion I have made in the past that some people felt worked was to view Illuminations from the walkway in front of the Odyssey Center ( see this map, between Mexico and Test Track). That area is raised compared to the WS area, so you can see fairly well. First Aid, Baby Care and some bathrooms are in that area facing WS. You can watch Illuminations from the walkway, but it is a little more muted because you are not right on the water. Also, if it gets too loud, she can duck into the restroom.
