Hello! I am wondering if anyone could talk about how the Alaska inside passage sail is motion sickness wise...especially pertaining to being in the aft of the ship. I've had it in my head that the aft is a bad place for me after experiencing sickness in Animator's Palate on the Dream but now I am realizing that aft may be okay for me. I was in forward on the Dream and with the patch I was fine except for going to the Animator's Palate. I will stop rambling--Just wanted to hear some thoughts.

The inside passage is protected. Only issues could be if you go on the outside on the way back like we did on our cruise. We cruised deck 2 aft. Did not get sick, but definitely more movement on return.

I’ve done the inside passage on an Alaska State Ferry. There really is only one stretch that faces open ocean, just before getting to Ketchikan. The rest is protected.

I can't speak to Alaska, but I feel terribly sick aft and do well forward and mid-ship. It's a different kind of motion. Everyone seems to be different.

My wife and daughter both are prone to motion sickness. I have each of us take a Bonine each morning. It may be psychosomatic, but we have never had any issues on a cruise.

Get some ginger candy. I take bonine and would still feel ill. Started using ginger candy(along with Bonine) anytime I felt ill and it helped tremendously. Last 2 cruises we sailed in storms and I never felt ill. I order the brand Tummy Drops from Amazon, there's different flavors. I like the peach ginger one.
