Insane Magic Morning

This, this, this! It's not like restricting it to onsite guests means the crowds will be too thin, because they get decent crowds at DCA early entry even without offsite guests. They don't need the Magic Morning perk to sell multiday tickets. What they need is more value added to the onsite rooms.

This is so true, thats why we have yet to stay on Property here in CA. There is no justification for the Extra money when there is no real Perks to me other than being close to the park. Staying on Property at WDW is a must IMO.

Magic morning has been included on three day tickets for years and years. Long before DCA ever had EMH. I think part of the problem may be that more and more people are staying for 3+ days rather than just one or two days thereby increasing the number of ticket holders who get MM. Also people stress online how important it is to use it so more people get up and use the perk on their ticket. And of course the parks are just busier.

ETA: I think they could improve the situation slightly by opening up Adventureland during MM giving people another area to spread out over and another headliner to ride.

Wouldn't help when the issue is it taking half an hour to get in the park. Perhaps a "rope drop" for magic morning to stop the lines from getting that long in the first place.

We did MM in Tuesday this week, staying on site, and it was still miserable. Totally agree about opening the other half of the park. Tomorrowland just gets sooooo crazy from overcrowding during that hour. 35 minutes for buzz at 7:30am. That just shouldn't be the case. Hyperspace Mountain and Star Tours were way worse, and you can't even pull a FP yet. Not good.

What time would you recommend we get to the park in the morning? We are going ga day that DCA has a MM but both parks open at 8. We are staying off property. I don't mind getting up and going early, just want to avoid the crazy opening crowds.

If you're off-property, you don't have early entry to DCA. If you're just talking about what time to get there for rope drop, I'd say to get to security 45 minutes early if you're on the Eastern side, earlier if you care about being at the "front" for rope drop.

I agree with this advice. Plan to be at security 45 minutes before the time you can enter the park you are visiting that day and you should be near the front of lines to get in the gates.

I have a security line question: This is going to be my first time staying off site, we always walk through DD to get to security and have never waited more than 5-10 mins. That picture petrifies me since I am bringing Dh on this trip along with DD 7 and 4! We will be coming in from the entrance closest to the courtyard maingate, should we expect more than a 5-10 min security line? We will be there 4/26-29. thanks

Spring Break is insanity. It's as bad or worse than summer or that dreadful week after Christmas.
We were there last week and couldn't believe how crowded it was. We had a "never again" moment. The window for good times to go is shrinking.
We didn't do any MM because we don't care that much about getting in early, but heard horror stories about waits. We had no lines at security or gates when we went in around 10.
It was a really chill trip, but when I see the Pirates line snake up the hill, and Racers at a 2.5 hour wait, I just shake my head.

We were thinking of coming down Easter Sunday through the next Wednesday (4/16-19)... do you think it will still be crazy crowded? I know it will be crowded, but will at be at the level people are talking about here?

We are in NorCal and that is the week of our Spring Break. I think a lot of California schools will still have Break this week. I'm thinking of going for a day or two and if I do go,I'm expecting crazy crowds.

Chances are it will be crazy crowded because there are a lot of CA spring breaks that week and unlike the week prior, the APers aren't blocked. And I think Dapper Day had good onsite hotel rates that week. Expect craziness and have a plan and have fun!

You are looking at MM as a "perk" for guests - which is how Disney wants you to view it. Disney is likely looking at MM as a chance to get people into the parks and spending money earlier.

Well, it's kinda hard to spend money when hardly anything is open! Seriously, none of the food carts or QS places open until 10:30-11:00. I wanted a bagel twist from Maurice's Treats for breakfast..Closed! Boo! The only places open are on Main Street, beyond that, NOTHING until later. Not a great strategy.

Tomorrowland Terrace is open at opening, as is Rancho del Zoccolo.

Tomorrowland Terrace is the place we hit after Magic Morning. While the regular crowds are filling in the park, we (after grabbing a fast pass) grab a table and enjoy breakfast. Our family isn't hungry first thing, so this suits us well. Hubby gets the breakfast burrito, two kids get the breakfast platter, the third eats the muffin and picks at the fruit from the fruit platter and I get a yogurt parfait. Plenty of food for everyone.

I wish there was something open in FL since that's where we always end up during and right after MM.
