I've said this a couple of times on this forum I'm sure, but I'm not sure about my rehire status (I had like 5.5 points when I left), and I'm too chicken to call and find out and I just decided I'd wait until I had my phone interview. Because of that I'm trying to prepare myself for both scenarios.

So... I was just curious...when they say you have to have a consistent job for 6 months in order to be considered for re-hire...
1) does it have to be a job that you actually get paid for, or can it be a volunteer job? I run a camera at my church at least 2 sundays a month and I've done it consistently for years, aside from the 6.5 months I was in Orlando, but we don't get paid since the church doesn't have that kind of money. I was also a production Assistant on my friend's film...PAs don't normally get paid anyway, or if they do it's not a lot...
2) What if you work for yourself? I'm a photographer, but I don't always get paid in money, every now and then I do... but since most of the time I take pictures for friends and/or their families and they pay me in other things... like food.

Does anyone know if either of these things count? Do I have to be able to show check stubs or a letter from a supervisor? With the volunteer job, I can do that (get a letter)... or I could get one of my friends and/or clients to write a letter for my photography...Will it count as long as I can show I have a good work ethic?

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I do have a question....where did you read that you have to have a consistent job for re-hire? I was thinking of applying for a second program, but I haven't been working...just focusing on school....:confused3

Mostly on these boards... It's really only if you have a restricted re-hire status. You have to fill out paper work and they don't even look at it if you haven't held a consistent job for 6 months...from what I've heard at least. I assume it's because if you're restricted it means you may have had attendance issues and they want to make sure that won't be an issue anymore.

You are fine. My first program I had 26 points 2 reprimands. I also left my first program a week early. My second program I had 16 points and got a 3rd reprimand on my last day. My third program I had 14 points 2 reprimands. As long as you don't get fired they will let you back anytime. You are just a # and they use the point system just to scare you. Points = extra vacation days so use the system to your adavantage. So don't worry abot your 5.5 points thats nothing.

And unfortunately that's why the call-sick point system was changed for CPs

Recently changed? Isn't it still 3 points in 30 days = 1 reprimand?

It used to be that if you called in 3 times in a row (sick), you would only get one point. However, now you can only do that once the entire program, and that's with a doctor's note. After that, it will be one point each time you call in. Shame it had to be changed
