I am making 2 teacher books this year. One for Kindergarten which I plan to have an activity section and then one page for each kid. I plan to have them write what they like best about this teacher and then I plan to have them answer a few questions that I will then type up and matte on card stock...favorite snack, favorite book etc...

Do you think I should do this with second grade? I just finished scrapping all of the activites and have 19 pages (8x8) We still have at least 4 more big activities planned for the year. Any ideas?
I have tried to make sure I have pictures of each kid and those who aren't in a lot of pictures I will make sure I get at the next several activities. Any ideas?
Thanks

Spinning,

For the kindergartners, how about making sure you have an individual picture of each and ask them to write their name to mount below it. I'd probably use larger paper for this rather than cardstock since kids this age don't usually write small!

As for the 2nd grade class I think just having all of the activities and pics of all the kids is great.

Hi,
I plan to have an individual picture of each kid and their name with the sentence at the bottom of the page. I did that before and it worked out great. I created school paper with the computer and printed that out and sent it home with a note to please use perminate ink/ thin marker. Would love to say acid free etc...but figure I will be matting it and using page protectors.

I am just not sure if I should add anything to second grade!

How about asking the second graders a silly questions in a kinda fill in the blank format. For instance the funniest moment of second grade was... Remember when we came to school and...The greatest day of second grade was... The kids will love doing this and the teacher will be touched as well as get a good laugh for years to come.

That is a great idea! I think that would work...but then do I want to have just a page of what they wrote or do I want to do a picture of the child and his/her writing? this is going to be a huge book!

I would do a typed page in a kid font of what they said when they answered the questions. Several of these could be iner-spaced throughout the book. You could do an interview with each child using a tape recorder and a mike. Have someone take photo's of the interviews. Within the borders of the pages you could use the photos.

But.......... What you already have planned sounds really great !!!

We're doing memory book for each of my 10 students that will be moving on to kindergarden next year. We are putting in a group picture, having each student write his/her name, each student will draw a picture of him/herself. A favorites page....favorite color, snack, center, game, etc.

Hope that helps!
