Hello everyone!!! This is my very first disboard post.---I have been lurking for the past few months gathering information for my family's 1st trip to Disney (my husband and I have both been before--in the 80's).

I have all our ADR's made, but I am struggling with our first CS meal the day we arrive. Our flight arrives at 10:30am and we will be staying at CBR. I have promised our kiddos (7 & 4 years old) that we will make it to the Magic Kingdom the day we arrive. So what are your thoughts on our first CS meal? Should we hit Old Port Royale before we goto the Magic Kingdom? Or should we hit Magic Kingdom and find a CS in the park? Any thoughts would be so very much appreciated:)

I think it depends on exactly when you arrive at your resort and when your bellies start grumbling for lunch! :) It could take an hour, it could take more. The park CS will be more crowded and it will take more time in line/to find a seat than the resort CS. I lean toward eating at the resort. But if you've had a late breakfast and can wait, getting to the park might be your first priority. ;)

I say eat at resort. One reason is time - it will be about noon and then check in, maybe eat at 12:30 then get bus for ride to MK. If you wait, there might be a melt down by the time you get to MK and then, once they see the MK they won't want to take the time to eat.

I do like columbia house for CS in MK, though.

I agree, I would eat at the resort first. If your flight lands at 10:30. I imagine you were up very early.
We arrive at 10:30 too and I don't expect to be checked in until 12:30 - 1:00. It takes time. I would eat then and then head out to the MK
Have a Great Trip.

If your flight lands at 10:30 a.m., then you most likely won't be able to hit MK until at least 12:30 or later. At this time, the CS restaurants will all be very crowded, so lunch will take up another hour or so.
On the other hand, your resort food court should be a much less crowded at this time so it will be much quicker, plus you'll have the kids fueled up and ready to go full speed once you hit the park.

I agree with eating lunch at your resort. This is what we did when we were there last month. We changed into our shorts (we came from Ohio and it was cold when we left) We then headed down to our food court (we stayed at all sports) and went out to the bus stop from there to head to MK. The food court was not crowded at all and we were in and out in no time.

We have the same type of situation. Our plan lands at 9:15. We'll have to get up really early that morning the flight leaves at 6:30 am! :scared1:

This is our first time using ME so not sure how long it will take to get to the Poly. I'm thinking around 11? So we'll check in and then maybe head to Captin Cooks the Poly CS. I know everyone will be hungry by that time. We'll be heading over to the MK as well. We'll play it by ear depending upon the time and such.

Have a great a trip!

If you decide to go to MK to get lunch then I would suggest you stop at Casey's Corner for hotdogs. It is right at the end of Main St and isn't usually too bad of a line to get your food. I don't like hot dogs (think they are disgusting actually) but the corn dog nuggets are very yummy. We are even planning to go there on our first day back. That was my Boyfriends first Disney food experience and he was hooked.
