Has anyone stayed at Vero Beach the last week in July?

It looks like it gets quite a bit of rain then. We'd only be staying 2 or three days before our WDW stay but would really like to know what to expect. How are the temperatures?

If there is quite a bit of rain during our stay, any suggestions for rainy day activities which include small children? :)

It does rain, but usually just for short periods... I can't recall a day where we had a whole days activities blown because of bad weather...

If it rains, there are a few things for the kids... Community hall has arts and crafts... Eb & Flo's has board games and books... You can rent movies from the store...

Pretty much all of Florida will be hot and humid in July with sporadic, very often localized heavy thunderstorms. Charts will show rain but it's usually not an all day constant event. The resort usually comes up with some rainy day activities if it's an all day event. There is also a big mall in Vero for spending rainy day time.

Thank you both so much for the helpful information! The only other time we visited VB was for one day during Spring Break but never during the summer.

We loved VB and can't wait to return! :)

During one rainy evening in August, they scheduled a movie in a community room and popped popcorn for everyone.

Thank you for the information, Bobbi! :) That sounds like a lovely treat for everyone. We found the CM's at VB to be wonderful so it doesn't surprise me!

During summer you'll most likely see rain every day. However, it'll cloud up/begin raining by around 3pm, and only last a couple hours. I'd use that time to get cleaned up from spending time at the pool or on the beach - then head out for dinner or whatever once the rain stopped. A couple of hours of "down time" might be a good thing for everyone.
