Input needed by American residents

Have you ever been to the American Adventure at Epcot? Golden Dream is a great song to represent the US and the whole attraction is full of wonderful ideas for quotes and people who represent our country.

Another easy food would be peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into bite sized pieces.

I like this idea. A lot of foods we think of as typical American, like hot dogs and cheeseburgers, would be hard to dish out in bite-size pieces.

Another idea would be chili. (some think chili is Mexican, but it's not.) You can keep a batch warm in a slow cooker, get some small disposable cups and spoons, and give each person just a small sample.

- Some quotes and pictures of our founding fathers would be nice.

- Some snippets from the Constitution, Declaration of Independence.

- Pictures of some of our national treasures such as The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Natural Bridge, Old Faithful, WDW

- Pictures of Famous Americans that have had an impact on the world (Government, Entertainment, Sports, etc.)

- Listings of popular sports, shows, foods (candy and snacks too), past times

- Prices of common items such as a loaf of bread, a gallon of milk, a carton of eggs. I thought this was interesting when comparing prices in other countries while preparing for travel.

- For some reason, I thought of potato salad for food. It's made differently from region to region but I bet it's a staple at cookouts. Cupcakes.

Making chilli and then hand out in small cups, would be a good idea too.

"This land is your land" and "Amazing Grace" would be excellent choices besides "Star-spangled banner".

I really am going to look up some stuff. Expecially some texts. Maybe we put up a laptop and play some important films, like the speaches of Marten Luthor King, JFK etc.

"Born In the USA" is not a patriotic song, despite its title -- it's an anti-war song

That still represents America. Our freedom of speech & freedom to protest our government is a privilege many other citizens of countries envy and do not have, ie, the Tiannamen Square massacre in China.

Another song to possibly include is:
Neil Diamond's "Coming to America."
When I think of America, I think of us as being more diverse than just old patriotic songs. Our culture is what makes us great, and it is that diversity and modern influence that is what creates the symbolism of why my city is constantly under bomb threat.

I'd include Frank Sinatra or Liza Minelli's version of "New York, New York," "I Left My Heart In San Francisco," "Sweet Home Alabama," John Denver's "Country Roads." Also, John Mellencamp's "Pink Houses," a song that doesn't sugar coat America.

The terrorists could bomb every one of our big cities. They don't understand the underlying spirit of "...Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
Oh! Say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave,"
is about the resilience, unconquerable spirit & and forward thinking that is at the heart of this country. We will pick ourselves up, not only survive, but thrive.

Isn't Fried Chicken something that is just SO american?

It might cost a little more than some of the other ideas... But, here you may be able to find large economically priced packages of chicken legs/drumsticks.

This is probably too much cost and effort.
I don't know if it would even be possible.
But, fried chicken certainly came to my mind!
