DD2 chose a sailor outfit with hat for her Duffy (the white nautical outfit). Got it home and discovered the CM has left the ink security tag on it
. DD1's had been removed
.
I rang my local (ish) Disney Store and they weren't much help - said they probably wouldn't be able to take it off as they don't use that type of tag. So, I emailed DLRP to ask what they could do. Reply was pay to send it back (they will only pay for normal post once I have posted to them), with a written note and receipt saying what has happened, they will de-tag and send back to me (normal post).
To be honest DD2 was really upset about it (esp as DD1's was fine!) and I'm not really happy to send it back over to France normal post so I asked if they would reimburse recorded but they won't!
Fine, I can send out of my own pocket but I'm not happy to receive it back normal post at this time of year because of a) amount of mail b)speed of mail and c) because of both of those things, chances of it being mislaid.
I have asked if I can take a photo to show item and scan in receipt, they can then send me out a new hat. I will then send old one back once in receipt, but they won't. At least this way I have one hat should another go missing!
Seems a bit inflexible considering it was their staff who made the error!
Anyone know any high street stores who use the Colourtag Multi ink tags where I could maybe go in and ask if they would remove? I have the receipt but tbh it's fairly useless outside DLRP as it's in French.
Just thought I'd ask as I'm sure I've read this happening before to someone on here....

And your poor DD.
From what I gather, it is really, really difficult to get off - for obvious reasons.
. When they came up with their ridiculous suggestion, I asked them if I could email a photo of hat with alarm on and scan in receipt. They could then send me a new hat (minus alarm!) and I offered to then send them the alarmed hat back. Nope - they can't do that apparently!!!
. The normal post is just not reliable enough to risk me sending it and ending up with nothing at the end of it.
If I were you I'd persist and send a new email (not a reply to the one you've received) attaching photos of the tag and receipt and lay it on a bit thick about the snow stopping you getting to the post office and how upset your DD is ..... with a bit of luck you might get a different CM dealing with it.
.
. I had thought about letting DD2 play with the hat with the tag on but I was worried she would somehow break the ink vial (as it is glass) and it would be all over. She was SO pleased when we gave her the hat for Duffy
