Injured Family Member, A little Help.

Thank you to both of you!

Is there a list of rides that use the return time? Also if we grab fast passes and return to the ride at our allotted time, would they direct us to the fast pass side if accessible or through the handicapped entrance?

If you have a fastpass and the fastpass side is accessible that is where you would return.

For more information on how to negotiate Disneyland and DCA a good resource is Rolling with the Magic. Scroll toward the bottom for the info.

I cannot express how grateful I am for all of you!

I am a huge planner so having an idea of what to expect is exactly what I needed. I understand I will probably not visit the same number of rides this trip but I am just going to make the best of it. :)

It won't be too bad- don't sweat it and roll (pun intended) with it! My dd broke a bone in her foot while we were in WDW this past November. After spending several hours at the ER, we left with a cast and crutches. We were 3 days into a 7 day trip.. We were able to park in the handicap area, even though we didn't have a sticker- just showed the cast and crutches. There were wheelchairs out in the parking lot to use to get to the gate, then we rented one once inside the park. Each CM was very helpful and showed us where to go, and even helped her get in and out of rides (yes we went straight to Hollywood Studios after the ER!) Our few snags were the crutches were a pain, and when we would leave the parks late and all of the courtesy chairs were already take! Nothing we couldn't handle! My dd even got character autographs on her crutches!!

Just an FYI- Disney would not rent an ECV to her due to age, she was bummed!

WC returns are now electronic like DAS. They scan the tickets of all members of your party at the attraction, not the DAS kiosk. The use of WC returns depends on crowds on any given day, at certain times of the day and on the amount of waiting area an attraction has. You will have to approach the attraction to find out whether or not the queue is accessible (this should also be on the park map), where to find the accessible entrance and to ask whether or not you'll get a return time or just wait in a line at the accessible entrance. Unlike DAS I'm not sure you can use FP at all accessible entrances. Hopefully someone will share which rides in DL accept FP at those entrances.

Apple Scooters is $85 for three days and they deliver and pick up at your hotel!

If you have a FP with a wheelchair, you will generally be directed to the HA entrance. For example, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Indy, you will go to the HA as the FP line is not accessible. Most non-FP rides have return times. It is easier to think of the ones that are accessible. (Buzz Lightyear, Matterhorn, Autopia). All of DCA is accessible, so just use standard lines. (TOT is an exception, it depends on how long the line is. When it gets really long, there is a section that isn't accessible.)
