ING accounts

I need some help from the experts! I used to see a lot of threads on the board about ING and other online banking accounts. I do not visit here as much as I once did but am curious.... what are the rates on these accts? Are they a good option right now? Where online can I find out about these accts?
I am not asking for a referral. I seem to remember that is a nono. My kids have some money set aside from grandparents and I am exploring options.

I've found that ING typically offers among the best financial offers.

We saved for our trip in May through ING direct. I love it because you can make multiple subaccounts. So we had a Disney vacation account, Christmas gifts account etc. If you google search ING subaccount, you will find different personal finance articles explaining how to do this. The current interest rate is 1.1%, I mean it's not amazing, but it's more than you'd get sitting in a Well's Fargo checking.

If you do know someone who banks with ING, you get 25 bucks for opening up a new account.

We've had several accounts with them for years. I love that I can do a reoccurring transfer from my checking each month. We are putting money into the account that we don't even miss and next year it will pay for a new car - cash! Their rate may not be the best but it's close and they have great customer service (we had a mortgage with them at one point and had good contact with them)
