Last Sunday the 23rd my DD got to wake Tink. I was talking to the CM's when they told me that they were letting several kids a day wake tink during the 1st 30 min to 1 hr of opening, they were giving them all a certificate. ALthough I was told my DD was 1st that day :confused3 I am not really sure. Sure enough though as we were walking out of the store another little girl was "waking Tink"
I think this is a good idea as long as all the kids aren't in the store at one time and it doesn't turn into something that will have a long line that just wouldn't be very special.

they must of just started that. We were there last month and got to the store about 10 min after opening. Tink was already up and they didn't let my dd's wake her again. Wish they would of started this last month!

When we were there in August they let about 3 different little girls wake up Tink... I guess it may depend on the CM's that day???

It was actually starting to become something families were fighting over. So, I think this may have been put into place to stop that.

How sad. I just cannot believe the things people will fight and argue over. For crying out loud, if you are in Disney, you are more blessed than half the world.

Good idea I hope they do let more than one a day wake Tink. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

Maybe Tinker is part feline so she will have to take many cat naps during the day....I admit....I would love my Mom to be able to wake up Tinkerbell....she has such joy remembering that part of the Sunday night TV routine when she was a youngling....

We have been there in the afternoon and they let my grandaughter wake Tink!! They said they let kids wake Tink at different times all day! :hourglass

Does anyone know if an adult has ever been allowed to wake Tink? Would really make DM's day!

Last month DD5 was able to wake up Tink! :cool1: ! But, their was another family their who I assumed also wanted to wake up Tink was their w/us. This family did not let me take a picture of my DD waking up Tink! We were in front of DD so that we may take a picture this Dad stated " Can you move so I may take a picture" ( this statement was made with anger). I looked at Dh and gave him a look do not move, :earseek: that is our daughter and our moment I would like her picture not a stranger to have it! Dh didn't move :love2: I gave the Dad a dirty look, I believe he got the idea.

Anyway, My point is; it would of been nice if this Dad would of had his own picture instead of my DD's. Oh by the way, his DD looked to be about 2? Don't even know if his DD realized what was going on. I'm not flaming this family. When in Disney we all do weird things.

My DD5 had made a gift for TInk that was placed on the treasure box by the wonderful CM. Such a wonderful moment for our family.

It isn't new as of this month. Before we left at the begining of July we had heard about it. We never got there early enough to see the "waking of tink" but we were there later and it was fun just to see "tink" flying around the store.

Mermaid02-
Both of my boys did it in August. They even let them borrow Peter Pan hat's and swords to tap the treasure box. Afterwards they got a certificate. There was a little girl there beforehand that had already awoken Tink (they were at an early breakfast and got there a few minutes before we did). We told the boys that Tink was tired and fell back asleep. There was also a family after us that they let wake her up again.

Disneycrazy5-
Tink is located in the Tinkerbell Treasures shop. When we walked through Cinderella's castle, it was the first shop on the left. When we left the shop after getting to wake Tink, taking pictures and getting the certificates, we still had a minimal wait at Dumbo and other nearby rides/shows. I'd say we were in and out within 5 minutes.

I have not heard of this. Can someone explain about waking up Tink?

Waking Tink happens when the 1st family goes into Tink's Treasures in Fantasyland and a child "wakes up" Tinkerbell by tapping her box. It's really cute.

Just know, that its not a character Tinkerbell.. but a light that twinkles around the room on the walls.

when we were there in Sept there were two older women working in the store. They really acted like it was an annoyance when my dd's6 asked if Tink was up. One did show a little interest when she saw how happy my one dd was to see Tink "fly" around the room. We had dd stand in front of the chest that Tink lives in and point to the keyhole so I could take a pic. The mirror on the chest caught the reflection of the flash and dd decided the reflection was Tink so she was happy. The cm's basically ignored my kids. They didn't even try to sell us anything!

We just got back from our trip. We made it a point a few times early in the morning to go to wake tink. Each time we were told she was awake already and then ignored by the CM. Not once were we told you could wake her several times a day or at different times of the day. I am glad some people got this chance to do it more than once and I am glad I never told my dd about the chance to wake her up. We just asked first and said nothing to her about it so she wouldn't be dissappointed.

Thanks Hanover, We are going the week of Thanksgiving and will definately try to get there early to do this.
