Infraction cost me 30 points

what annoys me is that a close friend of mine said damn on here and got points for it when another girl on here goes around saying damn(and hissed with a p) all the time but never gets points for it.

How do you know they never got points for it?

I've received points many times. I can only assume the threads I got points on, others have as well. If they didn't, then the mods have something against me because I've never said anything argumentative or nasty without being provoked (not that it makes it right.)

You can keep track of you points through your UserCP. It will show it at the bottom of the screen with the expiration date. If you get another 10 points, then you'll lose your sig and PMing privileges. I am completely pointless for the first time in ages, but no telling how long that will last.

If the Mods want the point system to be truly effective, they need to publicly note which specific posts were given points and specifically why. Until that happens, people are left to guess whether something is acceptable or not, and are not made aware of what is deemed unacceptable.

Under the current methodology, whether intended or not, the Mods leave themselves wide open to charges of favoritism and inconsistency in their rulings.

Another argumentative/sarcastic poster here.... and I have stopped frequenting the DIS nearly as much as I used to. Definitely I do not post hardly at all because almost everything I have to say could be considered sarcastic by somebody!

not neccessarily, argumentative sarcastic posts are only 10 points, minor personal attack is only 20 points. You wouldn't lose your signature for either of those unless you already had points.

When I click on user CP I get my subscribed threads. From the left menu I can then choose to edit my sig etc. Where do points show up? I don't think I've ever had any, because I haven't gotten any PMs from mods - but where would they show up if I did? Is it a box above my subscribed threads? Or below?
