Information Overload??

OK, just wondering if anybody actually loses it from information overload? :teeth:

We booked our Disney trip in March for this Christmas. Arriving around noon time 12/23 to ASMo resort and leaving late afternoon on 12/31. First time for me (37) since 1980 and First time for wife (35) since late 80's. First time ever for DD (11) and DS (8)

We booked our Castle breakfast and Chef Mickey breakfast back in June.

We have park hopper passes for all nine days and the Disney Dining Plan and have made all our ADR's that we needed, as well as reservations for the Candlelight Processional.

We also have a modest daily schedule made out as well (acceptable to change)

We realize, crowds will huge, lines will be long. We are not doing a commando style trip. We want to relax, enjoy ourselves, and take in the special Disney atmoshpere (Magic). We are going into the trip with the attitude that we don't absolutely have to do everything and every ride. If we want to wait in line, we will, if we don't want to wait in line, we won't. We have enough days to go back to each park a second time. We will try to use FastPass as much as possible. Still don't quite understand how the EMH works for Christmas week as the schedule show that all the parks open at earlier times and close at later times each day.

With all this being said.....I'm almost afraid to read the boards because it seems that so many posts seem to imply that if your not ready to run a marathon around the parks to starting at park opening, you won't have a good time.

Am I suffering from information overload or what? I'll admit, I'm nervous as h*** about the trip as I want everyone to have a good time and not be disappointed by anything. I'll also admit that I'm excited also, wife says she doesn't know whose excited more, me or the kids.

Any thoughts or opinions here, or should I just stay away from the sight until after my trip at this point?

Thanks for hearing me out.

Don

It sounds like you've done your homework and have the right attitude. I think it's important at the outset to know you'll never be able to do everything. We went this past June and it was very crowded. The best advice is to get to the park early and you'll be able to do a lot. We rode a lot of rides by 11:00, when ds7 was ready to hit the wall; then we had lunch, went to the pool and often went back for all the fun evening activities. I hope you'll have a wonderful trip. Don't stress, it's going to be fine!!! :thumbsup2

I'd call Information Overload an epidemic here! :teeth:

Honestly, I think a flexible plan, a few ADRs (FEW. Not many. FEW!) and an open mind to changing your plans on the fly if you're having fun (or not) is more important than planning every moment of your day. I can't imagine visiting with a strict plan and a bunch of ADRs.

Make a general plan, choose one or two sit-down meals, then let the magic find you. It's too easy to get caught up in everyone else's excitement and forget about YOUR FAMILY and what YOU will most enjoy. Relax. Have fun, and don't let the Overload you find on any internet board get the best of you.

don't worry or try to do everything. just relax and enjoy what you do rather then worry about "having" to do this and that. utilize EMH, fastpass and go to high capacity rides during crowded times.

just agree that if you don't do everything you want it just gives you an excuse to go back :). not that any of us on this board needs an excuse

have fun

Don't worry! You seem to have it all under control. I have been to Disney over 15 times and have still not seen it all.(Just another excuse to go back) You have a great attitude and that's all you need to have a great trip. We don't like to rush to the parks either. We also like to take a mid afternoon break. This way we aren't drained by day 3.
Have a great trip. And don't stay away from the Dis it'll help the next couple of days go by faster! ::MickeyMo

Thanks a lot....feeling more at ease now. I think it's all coming down to pre-trip jitters.

Thanks again. :scared:
