I have rented a car through Alamo and I was wondering if you can pick up your car at the airport? Also, would it be better if we got a town car? There are five of us and I have been told that you can't rent a town car for five people. I really didn't want to go to all of the expense of a limo and that is why I wasn't going to rent a car. Thanks for any advice!

You can rent a Car through Alamo/National and go from the airport and drop it off at WDW (TTC and Dolphin/Swan) for a one way rental (and vice versa you can pick up a car from WDW and drop off at airport). I am not sure when you are going, but don't for get about the new Disney Transportation that's free, starting in May. Also you can get a taxi (you should request a van), but if you want car service, then you would need a limo or a van. Check out the transportation board, and www.mousesavers.com for more information. I hope this helps, this is a popular topic for many people. :wave2:

What are your dates? Did you rent the car for the entire trip, or do you just want a one way rental, and then use Disney transporation in the parks? Alamo is located onsite at the Orlando airport and is the official WDW car rental company. However...if you want the best price, search the posts on this board and you can get a great rate at National, which is also onsite at MCO.

A towncar will not have enough seats for 5 passengers. You would have to rent a limo or take a shuttle bus to you resort if you do not rent a car.

Alamo is located inside the airport, so there is no need to take a shuttle to an offsite location to fill out your paperwork and pick up your car.

Depending on your length of stay and the class of car that you're renting, the cost of the rental can be the same or less than having limo service. And sometimes 2 single-day, one-way rentals can add up to the same price as a week-long rental.

For example:
For our next trip, a week-long rental of a full-size from National is going to be $109. A towncar service would cost us $90 plus tips. Two one-way rentals would cost us $96 and it would be for intermediate-size cars.

If you're staying onsite after May 5, you could take the Magical Express for free.

Oh my goodness! How did you get that rate? Is that before tax? For four days it is costing us $156.00. I looked at National but the only rate I could find was over $200.00!

The rate is with all taxes and fees. I used the Priceless Vacations contract code (6600330 - found on MouseSavers.com - National Car Codes ), used the $20 off Entertainment Coupon and the Product Rate Code WEBK. This is for April 20 -25. Any rental of 5 days or more is charged the weekly rate.

Renting for 4-days is tough...sometimes it's too long for a weekend rate but too short for a weekly rate. Did you apply any coupon codes to your rental? If it's over a weekend, the Entertainment Book has a coupon for a free day. The Priceless Code provides both a good base rate and a discount. Plus, the airport concession fee is dropped. Try the Priceless Code with and without the Product Code EWEB (full-size for $26/day)...good thru 5/25/05.

Anybody interested in a rental car should really check the Transportation Board and Mousesavers. I have a full sized car reserved with National - 10 days - $178 including tax.
