Maybe there wont be a specific announcement for the Dream and other upcoming cruises because everything for the UK cruises, except the vaccine verification will apply to the US cruises

I am beginning to wonder if that is the extent of the message we will ever get from them. Someone at DCL must just think that no information is the way to go. Can you image if 4 weeks go by and that is all you ever got. No word on anything else, just show up on Aug 9th and go for it? That's as close to a pre-pandemic situation as possible.

We totally should have done an competition pool (within the confines of the forum rules of course), guessing what protocols would be and the date announced. I would already be out, no way I would have picked a date within 4 weeks of sailing but someone on the forum here could have made some $ against us!

If they do, I would think they will have a lot of unhappy customers. Other cruise lines already sailing out of Florida have a fraction of the rules for vaccinated cruisers than the the UK staycation cruises. Cruisers from areas of the country that are already back to normal, like myself will have a hard time stepping back in time to all the covid restrictions.

I think this goes both ways. Some who have no restrictions now will have a hard time stepping back. Those that still live with some restrictions might feel uncomfortable if they are onboard with no protocols of any kind. Of course, it's easy to say if you don't like the rules, you can choose not to sail. That only works if Disney tells us the rules.

Agreed. They just need to tell us the rules and let us decide if we want to sail with them in place. There are other cruise lines to sail on right now if you are vaccinated and don’t want all the restrictive covid requirements.

I am hoping that by the time our next DCL cruises in October and January roll around, it will be a closer to normal experience. I am ok not sailing the dream in august and maybe sail the celebrity edge instead.

They published their "Know before you go" info for the UK sailings on April 25th! APRIL!!!!! That is almost 4 months before the first revenue sailing.

The last three cancellation notices were on 6/8, 5/14, and 4/15. I'm speculating we'll hear something this week on September cruises, and perhaps the remaining San Diego cruises. (I'm on an Oct sailing from San Diego)

If there's pending CDC comms that DCL knows about then any speculation is probably meaningless. But, what else is there to do?

Surely DCL knows whether the Wonder is coming through the canal by now. I’m assuming they’d have to book passage through. And they have to know what the restrictions will be.

Not only are they allowing people to check in, but they are verifying documents and sending confirmation emails. That’s a lot of work just to cancel.

Per these two sites, I don’t see the Wonder scheduled to go through the canal in 2021:

The counter point to this is that there have been social media posts of crew members stating that they are flying in to San Diego in August.

Also, if they are not carrying paying passengers it may be that they are listed differently.

Some cruiselines are still restricting children from sailing. My guess is DCL wants their cruises to be open to everyone. Maybe that’s why it’s taking a little longer to work out all the protocols?

Probably so they have everything ready before any deadlines , rather than slamming to check people in at the last minute . Check in with all the security checks is time sensitve. Sounds like they are hopeful. If they have to cancel, they have time on their side to process credits etc.
