Information from DCL or lack of?

Not only do people not want that, I don't think Disney wants it either. I can't see the same company having such extreme restrictions that their "fully vaccinated" UK sailings changed meet n greets to prevent people from getting close to characters, and then doing a non-restricted no vaccine cruise on the other side of the ocean at the same time. it isn't logical. There will be protocols, there has to be.

WDW and DL aren't doing meet n greets yet either, which is a key indicator. If they won't do it outside at theme parks, odds on doing it on a ship are extremely low. I also suspect Union opinion to be involved.

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney had a plan that seemed reasonable a month ago, but is now changing things based on the impact of the Delta variant. Things had been changing for the better for months, but now we have another hiccup that is especially relevant to cruising because of the different impact to vaccinated individuals and children. I'm sure that there's still a reasonable path towards starting soon, but my guess is that it looks slightly different than it did a month ago.

On the flip side of that, the CDC gave guidance that vaccinated children and teachers don't need masks. The contagious nature of the Delta variant only makes vaccination status that much more important.

I might be the minority but I booked my cruise pre-pandemic.
Yes our cruise was booked. pre pandemic
while on a cruise in Aug 2019. It was scheduled for November 2020. Of course that was canceled and we rescheduled for November 2021.

Even if that's the case, you all had plenty of time to cancel. :)
Just because you put a smiley doesn’t make your post kind or funny. This is very emotional and upsetting for many of us who are cruising in the next few months. Many of us have had multiple cruises cancelled over the last 18 months. We all want to make informed decisions about our travel plans. So far, DCL has made that impossible. Clearly we don’t want to cancel or we wouldn’t be posting here. A little compassion goes a long way in these tough times.

Yes, you are right I could have. However, never did I think that 16 months later we would still be here and if we were I would expect that something would have been communicated. If Disney can't seem to decide what they are doing with a cruise scheduled to go out less than a month away.. how am I when I don't have all the information.

I just read in the UK Staycation thread that they are doing PCR tests in-car and holding up all the traffic at the port waiting for results. It's a mess.

Which again makes me think, how on earth are they doing this in the US when Dream resumes. Will they even? The lack of info on the vaccine or testing requirements is emotionally draining.

UGH! What a mess!

This seems like such a huge piece of the puzzle that guests really need! :confused3 I'm guessing DCL has a reason for holding off on the info, but come on! 25 days! Every day I think this will be the day we get an email or see something on the site but...

Right? We should start a pool on how many day’s out we actually hear from DCL again on US cruises …. 5, 10, 20?

Is "Find out when you arrive at the port" an option on the pool? If so, put my name down for that choice!

If someone had told me a year ago that DCL would be saying they are cruising, but had not sent out any information......I would be "no way" and would have defended them in my usual "Disney is great and would not treat their customers poorly" lecture.
Now, I just have no words....or none that will allow me stay on these boards. :badpc:

This seems to be specific to the current port (Liverpool). Nothing similar was reported at Southampton on the test cruises, seemed to be a much smoother process.

I never intended it to be funny. It’s just the reality of having a cruise booked right now. Its not exclusive to Disney. It’s unfortunate and I feel for you guys, but it’s certainly not surprising. They are obviously waiting on something.

Add to that the number of people that combo a cruise with a park vacation... I don't doubt some folks are only a couple weeks out from flying down to Florida!
