Will Disney Channel Games return to the Walt Disney World Resort in 2010?:)

A STRONG,STRONG indication will come Thursday during the New Year Star Showdown programming on Disney Channel.

If a Disney Channel Games 2010 is not mentioned during the New Year Star Showdown, the chances of a DCG 2010 are VERY slim it not non-existant.

Disney Channel typically uses their New Year's Eve/New Year's Day programming to promote their schedule for the next year(new DCOM,etc.).I expect Camp Rock 2,Good Luck Charlie!,etc. to be heavily promoted during the New Year Star Showdown.:)

Disney Channel Games 2008 WAS promoted during the New Year's Eve/New Year's Day programming on Disney Channel for that year.

Disney Channel Games 2009 WAS NOT mentioned during the New Year's Eve/New Year's Day programming and was officially cancelled in February.

Adam Sanderson and Gary Marsh made positive comments about the Disney Channel Games and the 2007,2008 location at the Walt Disney World Resort after DCG 2008 http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2008/05/will-disney-cha-2.html#more-4068 so I think there is at least a "decent" chance there will be a DCG 2010.:)

I hope to see it announced Thursday.:)If not,I don't think it will happen(but I could be wrong!).:)

Hey WEDWDW I knew I could count on you to post something about this!!

Did you watch the Christmas parade? During Selena Gomez's segment she mentioned something about Friends for Change doing something at WDW in February. We have been searching but haven't been able to find anything. Have you heard anything about this?

Will be watching tonight to see if there is any mention of the games!

that would be the Disney Parks’ Celebration of Volunteerism at Epcot on February 11

My best "GUESS" is that Selena will be part of the Celebration of Family Volunteerism event at Epcot on February 11.It couild be possible that event is associated with Friends for Change, but again, just a guess.:)

While I was typing my reply,a Poster posted that Selena is CONFIRMED for the Celebration of Family Volunteerism.:)

We'll be there on Feb. 11. What is this and how can I get more info? Is it a ticket event? What's the deal???

there really isn't much known about it right now, at least not publicly. if you actually google for it, i'm one of 3 mentions of it.

it's mostly a media event, but I suspect as long as you're in the park, you'll probably catch something, probably on the fountain of nations stage.

as it is, WDW is planning a 25th anniversary event on Jan 19 for its Magic Music Days program and still has yet to publicize many details on it.

Well, they've previewed Good Luck Charlie and the 2010 Friday night lineup so far,but no DCG.It ain't looking good.:)

2010 Sunday Night lineup,Camp Rock 2-The Final Jam and Starstruck have now been previewed.Still no DCG.:)

To my knowledge,Disney Channel Games was never mentioned,so I don't think there will be a Disney Channel Games 2010.

That is really a shame because Disney Channel Games was the only time of the year where fans could get "up close" to the Stars.Besides seeing them at Champion Stadium,Fans never knew who they might run into in the Parks and,of course Fans staying at their Resort saw them all the time and even had conversations with them.:)

It just seems Disney Channel does not think Disney Channel Games has enough "Value" to warrant making the Games a priority.

I think those of us who were able to attend Disney Channel Games 2007 and Disney Channel Games 2008 are beginning to realize how fortunate we were.:)

Joe Jonas and Demetria Lovato have been confirmed for the February 11 Event at Epcot.:)

It appears this event will be the closest thing to a "Disney Channel Games magnitude" event at WDW in 2010.:)

Where did you find this? So now Joe, Demi and Selena are confirmed? I think I saw Mitchel Musso mentioned somewhere through google as well, but can't find anything official.

I know, it's kind of sad as a 27 year old to like DC stars, but I can't help it ;)

Of course...and my DD will be in school. She's going to be inconsolable when I get home from work!

it appears to be a closed media event, by invitation only. a few contests have offered the ability to win a WDW trip including attending the event and it's smack-dab in the middle of the disney social media moms conference.

the information on joe jonas and demi lovato comes from the radio disney contest which is one of them.

I haven't heard anything about Mitchell.:)

At this point,it appears the actual performances by the DC Stars will be at a ticketed event.:)

If that is the case my "guess" is that it would be held at World ShowPlace(that was the venue for DCG 2008 All-Star Party)so there could possibly be some sort of opportunity to see them as they enter the venue there if that is indeed the location.:)

I also feel strongly that the DC Stars will be out and about in Epcot at some point of the day either doing a D365 Promo,Friends for Change spot,GADGADD spot, etc.:)

I can't imagine Disney would bring them all the way to Epcot without taking advantage of the beautiful Park to tape something .:)

At a minimum,I can almost guarantee that the DC Stars will be taking a few spins on some of the rides at Epcot at some point during the day. They love WDW as much as we do!:)

Thanks for the information. It's a shame that it's a ticketed event, but nothing to do about it. I can't enter any of the competitions, I'm not living in the right country, and well, I'm too old.

Back in the days I was known as the celebrity hunter of my high school so I guess I can pull it off one more day ;)
We have a 8am breakfast in Akershus so we'll be in the park early.

So how do we get tickets to the Celebration of volunteerism without winning them throught Radio Disney. Are they going to do things in the park that day?

To win the tickets through Radio Disney, you need the Disney radio code word of the day. I would like to enter my girls into the contest but need the code word.

Anyone know the code word for today? It would be great if someone could update the code word everyday.

I just wanted to mention that,to my knowledge,a venue for the COV has not been announced,so I would think it is "possible" it could be held at an outdoor venue such as the Fountain of Nations Stage or the American Gardens Amphitheatre.:)

It would still be a "ticketed" event, but just as the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade is a "ticketed" event,Guests without tickets still have a limited view of the Parade taping, and the same could be true of the COV.:)Just a thought.:)

But,if it is held at World ShowPlace,I would think there would be a good chance of a "Red Carpet Entrance".:)
