Hi,

I can't remember if I posted this a while back or not but thought it was worth posting again if I had!

I was checking about shipping my dress out to the States and decided not to due to customs and duty payable even though I had bought it and was just shipping it to myself. The customs guy told me to take a copy of the receipt (if it wasn't bought in the US) to prove that it was a personal item, ie over 6 months old.

He also told me to take proof of hire if taking suits out too.

Thought it might be useful info :thumbsup2

I didn't even know that this would be an issue!?! :rotfl:

we had no problems, all the suits were packed in cases and my dress was in a case that was the biggest i could take on board and no problems what so ever.

The best men took all 7 suits with them when they flew home and had no problems on the way back and my mum took the dress with no problems
