Info on Transferring pts

I am looking into needing to transfer 78 points to my account to make a reservation for a friend. What do you guys think my chances are for getting this? Is it best to go through paypal? I suppose I need to have the $750 in my account and pay for it right? I did this but it was a long time ago.

While it is a significant number of points, there will be fewer people these days willing to use their "once per year" transfer for this. Are the points only for your friend's reservation? If so, it might be easier (and better for you) to have your friend rent the reservation directly from a DVC owner. That way, any cancellations, etc would be on your friend's tab and not yours.

As for payment, that is up to the DVC owner you are dealing with. Some insist on Paypal. Others refuse to use Paypal and want a certified check or money order.

Go over on the rent/trade board and give it a whirl.

There is a horror story here just about every week about some relative or friend who cancelled out, leaving the DVC owner in a bad situation. I'd spend a little time searching for some of those anguished threads, and read them carefully before I rented points I didn't need for a friend or in-law ressie.

In addition to less risk for you, it also gives the friend more control over their vacation.
