Has anyone every ate at Teppan Edo? What was it like? How was the food? How about for a 6 year old boy? Anyone got any pictures? Any help would be appreciated! We are going in Jan and would love to try it, but want to hear what others think.

Thanks for the help!

Cindy

It was great. My son (10) is a big fan of Japanese food and has been ever since he was 8 and we first took him to a restaurant like Teppan Edo where they cook at the table. It is a fun way to encourage kids to try something a bit outside their usual because the show the chef puts on is so amazing to them.

The food itself is pretty simple - meat, veggies, rice & noodles with different sauces on the side. Nothing even a picky eater would object to, IMO. The tempura appetizer was really good, as were our main courses. I can't wait to go back, since I was pregnant last trip and thus couldn't sample the sushi or sake offerings!

We were there last week with my sons (ages 5 and 3). We got them both the tempura plate which comes with chicken and shrimp. We requested that they receive all chicken. They are basically better than average chicken strips, however my 5 year old objected to them as they weren't of average apperance. My 3 year old ate it right up. We thought the place was great (and they even kept my plate warm on the burner while I took my son to the bathroom). We will definitely be going back even though my 5 year old didn't love it.

We loved it! The food was so delicious and fresh! We had a lady chef who was a riot, and very friendly. The service and atmosphere was terrific! My DS12 had an awesome time, and said he couldn't wait to go back. I would recommend it! We will be returning in Jan. I can't wait! :thumbsup2

We ate there last month and my kids liked it! They got meals that were cooked on the grill. It was chicken or shrimp with noodles/ veggies and white rice. I believe they had cookies for dessert. Our chef was very good and he made sure that the all the kids at our table had a blast. :thumbsup2 They also "rig" the chopsticks so that the little ones can eat with them if they want.

We were there last year for my DD's 8th birthday. They were great with her, and DS, who was 4 at the time. The kids' menu was somewhat limiting, but not bad. They both enjoyed the experience, and we all had a blast.

Teppan Edo was one of the best meals of our trip and we WILL be returning. All around excellent food and service!

Teppen Edo is the best :worship: . Your boy will love it. His food will be served in a monorail dish. So cool. I wanted one to take home.lol

My family of four just ate there last month. (Me, DW, DS6 and DD4)

We were on the Free DDP, so we opted for no appetizer.

Our service was beyond great. Everyone was attentive, fun, and professional. Our waitress made the 'helper' chopsticks for the kids, the onion 'volcano' was a huge hit. I could tell that everyone from the greeter to the chef was having a good time at work, and their enthusiasm was contagious.

You are seated on three sides of a large flat-grill and they fill the table (8 people, I think). So smaller parties will be eating with strangers. We shared a table with a very pleasant threesome, and a cool singe guy, who was into Japanese 'pop' culture, and chatted about anime to our waitress.

The food was excellent. I had the steak+shrimp, and ordered it 'medium rare' (They cut the steak and sear all sides of the small pieces, only way to eat rare or med. rare steak, imho.) The portions were very generous, no fear of going hungry. The kids got the same type of food as the adults (smaller portions, but I could hardly tell) , and we decided to get them both shrimp, which they love. The noodles and veggies disappeared quickly from their plates too. My wife had chicken + shrimp, and was equally pleased with the quality.

The kids got a cookie for desert (only choice) and my wife and I both got something that I remember being very tasty, but to my shame, the blur of 7 days in a row of Disney Dining has erased what it was from my food addled mind.

This is now on my 'must do' list for next years trip.

The only meal of the week where all 3 of my kids left the plate empty.
Try the Green Tea pudding for dessert, tastes a lot better then it looks.

This place is amazing! I have a ton of pictures in my trip report of the food and the kids monorail dishes too! Check 'em out through the link below!

Has anyone with food allergies (gluten/wheat to be specific) ever eaten at Teppan Edo? how was it?
