Info on Photoshop

Some of you have mentioned tutorials for each program. WHERE do I find them? I have PSP 9 just because it came with my computer. I've been able to do some REALLY great stuff by just experimenting my way through it. I'd like to know how to really do this. Specifically I want to know how to put something into layers (geeze that sounds so simple but I've not been able to figure it out...lol). Because it's so cheep to upgrade to PSP X I'm going to do that and if I ever outgrow it I'll investigate PS. I had one of the really early versions of PS (like 10 years ago) and it was very cumbersome. PSP is very intuitive and easy to work through even if you just have very basic understanding on how these programs work. I would like to know how to use all the features though instead of just the ones I've been able to figure out.
