Hey everyone- Im going to be Cruising on the Magic ship to Grand Cayman And Castaway Cay Jan 29th until Feb 3rd. We have aided on the Dream before in May and loved the weather and ship.
If you could give me any pointers as to the weather during Jan. and Feb at Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay that would be Awesome!
Also we are staying in cabin number 7090 its between the mid ship elevators and aft, a little closer to after. does anyone know where on deck 9 the soda machine is located? closer to mid or aft?
Any other tips tricks and thing to know would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!:rainbow:

Hey there. First, enjoy your cruise on the Magic! Such a wonderful ship. Smaller than the Dream and Fantasy but so great just the same. So...the weather in Grand Cayman at that time of year was perfect. Warm, but not scorching....we had an amazing time. The weather at CC was much cooler. The air temperatures were still great. In the upper 70s or so. The water temperature was another story (at least for this 10 year Floridian, originally from Wisconsin). It was COLD. There were people in the water and my DS did the Wild Side Teen Excursion where they went snorkeling and he survived, but it was not for the faint of heart. DH and myself could not do anything more than put our feet in the water, and even that we didn't do for long. I have heard it varies though, so perhaps the water won't be as cool when you go. I think it is a great deal dependent upon how mild the winter has been up to that point.

The soda machine is in the aft of the ship just outside of Cabanas on the pool deck. I would always recommend the aft elevators if you are heading to the soda machine, or just in general....less crowded. Let me know if you have any other questions. :) Love to be of help....and on this one, I think I know a fair amount. LOL

Awesome!!! We are from Wisconsin too! And I'm am a warm water swimmer only. But i wasn't expecting it to be swimming water for me. I will just be happy to get out of Wisconsin this winter. I hear its going to be a dreadful bitter cold winter with lots of snow. We are from central Wisconsin Weyauwega to be exact. (not many people have ever heard of the little bitty town but we did make national news in 1996 with the train derailment.) Anyway we are just 20 min West of Appleton.
We will enjoy the cruise! Ive been dreaming of this from the moment we got back from out first one in 2013!
Thanks for all the info!!

Welcome, we are on the same cruise. We are snow birds from NJ who love to sail with DCL in the Winter, just to get out of the
ice and snow. This is our third late Jan/ early Feb cruise and we don't mind the weather. Ocean might be cold, but the sun is hot.

Well, now that I know you are Wisconsinites, I can say with great confidence that you will LOVE the weather in Grand Cayman and CC in January and February. It could be 60 and you would be breaking out the shorts. LOL. I am originally from Waukesha. I have heard of your little town actually. I grew up in Wisconsin my entire life though until I was 28 years old. I know how you feel about looking forward to your next Disney Cruise. I am counting down the days to mine and I still have 351 more to go. We don't sail until Sept 2017. Our first Disney Cruise was Feb 2015 and I feel like it has been forever. :)

We're your neighbors over here west of the St Croix, yep the Sunday night winning team. We have done February and over New Years, we have been very lucky and caught great weather. On CC in January it had been sunny for several days prior so the water was acceptable, others would not agree, probably only 30 or 40 snorkelers and 15 or 20 at the beach not swimming on serenity bay. We swam and snorkeled, loved it and had sun all day on the beach. we did hear Fla people complaining how cold it was when a breeze kicked up and felt like the island was hosting only about 2/3 of ship. For the evening movies on deck very few people but those of us up there had a great time, cheering and calling out the movie lines like Wild Hogs when the bar shouts in the film.

We love sailing that time of year and have a back to back this February coming up. The only weather concern we have is our tendency to get large snow storms in February, so we always fly 2 days early in case the roads delay us getting to the airport or flight cancellations which can back up service for a few days. enjoy the Magic, we love that ship.

We sailed on the magic last week of Jan 2016. I thought the weather at CC was perfect....upper 70s. The water was too cold for me...couldn't talk myself into snorkeling or swimming out to pelican plunge...but we had a cabana on the family beach so it was a wonderful day anyways.

We're going Jan 28 on Fantasy. I hope the water at Serenity Bay is a little warmer since it is so shallow. I really hope I can get into the water!

Small world! My husband went to high School in Weyauwega haha! We currently live in Manitowoc. We're going on the Magic December 11th to the Eastern Caribbean. We did the Western on the Fantasy last September and it was fantastic. I'll be on the Wonder at the end of February too (for my grand slam).

Yep, small world, Hortonville here. We'll be on the Magic in Nov. We have sailed in February and March and enjoyed the weather and the water at CC both times.

We found weather in Bahamas and Florida on the cool side from Nov-Feb but it's a mixed bag. Downright cold to hot. It's ok though, just didn't enjoy swimming then.
Caribbean was nice and hot.
We loved the Disney Magic :)

:) I imagine my kids will brave the colder water. And I like that we can stand the colder weather better than most, that way the ship isn't as crowded when swimming and watching the movies on deck. Im looking forward to this cruise even more now!! Thank you and GO PACK GO!!

SMALL WORLD IT IS! I graduated in 2003 and my husband in 2001 would we know him? Lucky you!! Disney cruises are addicting. I wish I could afford to go that much. Enjoy all your up coming Cruises!!!

This is such a fun place to meet people in your own back yard. My husbands family is actually from the Hortonville area. The Young's. We sailed in May the last time and loved the weather. Hoping we have lots of sunshine this cruise too.

This is kind of what my take has been. So we get on in miami and go to grand cayman with a sea day in between. Then after Grand Cayman we have another sea day and then CC so hopefully our sea days will be spent more in the Caribbean. Thank you for the info!!
