I was under the impression that you can't book an Escape weddings until 8 months before, but you can be pencilled in at 12 months.

Just rang DFTW to confirm this and she said it has to be at 8 months.
So i am a bit confused now? :confused3

I am under the impression that the person who answers the phone when you call DFTW isn't really the person that knows all the answers. The best thing to do is give them all your info, than a planner calls you back.

I called back in March (and I am doing an Escape April 2010) and was assigned a planner. I have also been penciled in since than, even though I cannot officially book until August 17th. I'm not really sure what the benefits are of being penciled in, except that I beleive your planner will automatically book that day for you at the 8 month mark :goodvibes

Did they ask for your info? When I called (and this has been the same as other experiences I have read on here) the person who answers takes your info and than you get a call from a planner within 24 business hours. Honestly, I would probably call back acting like you haven't even called, just say you are looking for info, and want to speak with a planner :goodvibes

No she didn't ask me anything at all. I think i am going to call back x

Definitely call back! The first time I called, the person I spoke to took some details - date, time and venue I wanted and some information about us and told me to expect a call back within a couple of days. Two hours later, I got a call from a Sales Coordinator who confirmed that my choices were available and booked pending our confirmation of our hotel reservation. I called just less than a year from the date I wanted, I didn't have to wait until 8 months out.

Let us know how you get on!

I called at 18 months out and got assigned someone then. Being pencilled in means nothing apart from your planner knowing what you want and therefore if no one else wants the same you automatically get booked in.

Hi Claire,

Are you having an Escape wedding?

Really nervous about phoning them again, not really sure what to say to make sure i do get pencilled in for a provisional date. What did you say?

I have just had conformation from Randy saying the date i want is free, so i am going to pay his deposit later.

Not sure my nerves can hold out until February next year to find out for certain if i have got the date.

PS Was up until late last night reading your PJ, lovely rings! x

The first time I called I got no where with the person on the phone as well- so I called back and never mentioned I had called before, I asked TONS of questions until the receptionist person said- "maybe you should talk with a wedding coordinator":lmao: Just give it another try:thumbsup2

Thanks for reading my PJ. Yes i'm having an Escape Wedding. Just ask loads of questions and then they'll get someone to ring you back instead as they won't be able to answer them.

It is quite hard waiting but most brides do seem to get what they want. What are you hoping to get?

Well in an ideal world i would love Sunset point i know maximum guest count is 8 guests, so it may have to be changed to the Boardwalk.

Date we would like is 1st October 2010, which is the date i have booked Randy, and an ideal time would be 12pm.

What sort of questions did you ask? I just didn't seem to get anywhere when i rang yesterday, and i really hope it doesn't end up like that again.
It's made me more nervous!
Think i need to write down a list of questions.

Your not far from me at all, i live in Windsor, and i was in Reading on Saturday at the garden centre which sells pets, can't remember name though.

You could ask about the cake/flowers/music/dessert party but i'd just start the sentence with "I've got loads of questions" and hopefully that'll be enough.

Reading has a really nice wedding dress shop if you are looking.

Yay! Finally i got somewhere.

I just asked if i could speak to a wedding planner because i wanted to get married in Disney next year.
She took all my details and said someone will call you back within 2 business days.

That's great news, we are hoping for October 2010 too. Hope you don't have to wait too long!:cool1:

It appears to be all UK residents in this thread!

I'm hoping for December 2010 so a few months after you ladies.

Can I ask are you majorly stressed about the whole thing? I feel like with the Escape wedding you have to add things on to really get a wedding package you know.

Am I right in thinking the person who calls you back is the sales person and then you get passed on to another wedding co-ordinator or am I wrong? I would like to be wrong, I really like the lady I am dealing with at the moment!

Yes. On the first call, you talk to a receptionist. Then a Wedding Consultant calls you back and will shepherd you through the first half of your planning - all the sales stuff, like contracts and deposits. After that, Escape couples get a Wedding Services Coordinator who handles all the details of the ceremony itself. :thumbsup2

I am pretty stressed because i feel i cannot plan anything until i have definate dates.

I am waiting for a wedding consultant to call me back so i will let you know what they say if you like?

Have you ring Disney yet?

Where in the UK are you?
