Info on Easter holiday- that cruise is always expen.

My wonderful husband looked up when Easter falls, I have no idea where he found the info on the net but he did. Easter really hiked up the rates for our Spring Break here in the midwest so I wanted to know when we would not be going on Spring Break. We do not have any vacation days linked to Easter where we live. Having the rate hikes confused me until our TA explained the East coast gets a long Easter vacation and/ or their Spring Break is linked to Easter. The Easter holiday also not only hiked up cruise rates but airfares, hotels you name it. In '05 we won't be going anywhere over Spring Break in March but.....

Easter dates

April 16th '06--no conflict with our Spring Break
April 8th '07--no conflict with our Spring Break
March 23rd '08 --that is my husband's birthday but it also is when our Spring Break falls so no cruise
April 12th '09--no conflict with our Spring Break
April 4th '10 Daughter graduates from high school so after this date we can cruise any time during off season.--no conflict

Since the '06 dates are out, I thought for those of you who where in our situation with sticker shock because of how Easter fell in '05 good news'06 should be great as well as '07! Just thought you'd like to know.

You are luckier than all of us at Fairfax county, Virginia. Our spring break is always the week before Easter Sunday. My younger son just started first grade. So for the next 12 years, we can only take vacation on high season (summer, Christmas, and Easter) unless we take the kids out of school.

You are right about everything is more expensive for the two weeks around Easter.

Thanks for that info. DH teaches at a local college and their breaks are always in March also. We had a cruise booked for break in 2005 but have moved it to 2006 - mostly because the cost is a lot less.
