I tend to prefer songs, sung in languages I don’t know, also I prefer female vocalists. I plan this topic to be of such songs with the language and the language family noted above the video.

Navajo – part of the Na-Dené Family

Tom,

A lot of that old Shakira stuff in Spanish is good
Since I can’t speak any language on this list, I can’t be 100% sure of what language they are, so kindly correct me if I am incorrect.
Japanese – Part of the Japonic language family

Kathryn, Thinking about your video, is it about immigrants being arrested?

I don't know what the song is about...I doubt it's anything political, it is from like the late 90's.

Kathryn, I looked it up.
It is not too favorable for a woman.
Shakira's "Ciega, Sordomuda" (Blind, Deaf-Mute) is a 1998 pop-rock song about being so intensely in love that one becomes irrational, obsessive, and completely out of control. Lyrically, she describes acting "brute, blind, deaf, dumb, clumsy, and stubborn" because of her partner's presence.
Thank you for your responce.
Tom,

Chinese – Part of the Sino-Tibetan language family

Meng Jingnu is the name of a Chinese legend and the name of the protagonist; it is tragic somewhat like Romeo and Juliet. Although the video suggests a happier ending.
The legend can be found here: https://www.chinlingo.com/articles/600402/. And a translation of the song can be found in the comments.
Tom,

I'm a huge fan of Japanese metal music, but sometimes we get a beautiful acoustic version from one of the groups, like this one (has English captions):

Not a fan of dance per se, but this routine stopped me in my tracks while channel surfing. Good song too;

For some reason the OST version sounds slightly different than the in game version but this song is still incredible.

LuvOrlando thank you for the video. Ave Maria is one of my favorites and he sings it very well, but it seems strange to me to hear a man sing it. The German title of the song is "Ellens dritter Gesang", translated to English is "Ellen's Third Song". The words are a maiden’s prayer from Sir Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake and are meant to be spoken by Ellen Douglas, a woman, a maiden.

Ave Maria! Maiden mild!
Listen to a maiden’s prayer!

ChrisFL, thank you for the very nice video. Is Babymetal related to Band Maid?

Smugpugmug, thank you for the video, I liked it. French is my favorite language.

Tom,

No, different groups. Babymetal started in 2010, and they've toured 5 continents, done collabs with tons of artists and reached #9 on the U.S. Billboard chart this past year. They're really an amazing group.

Fun Fact, Olympic Figure Skater Ilia Malinin is a huge Babymetal fan and one of his outfits he uses is directly inspired by Babymetal's outfits from 2024. He also did an interview with Vanity Fair magazine and played their songs for 30 minutes during the interview 😅
