Info on CR for October

I have been going to Disney since it opened and have stayed at the CR two or three times back in the 70's, back when mom and dad were paying. My mom always says that when we first went to wdw in 1972, we stayed at the CR for $25 a night. Not sure if it was that low, but if it was, I am not sure if that amount even covers the room tax now.

Well, now that I have two children of my own, I want to let them experience the CR. I want them to be able to come out of the room and see the monorail coming through the building. I want them to be able to watch WISHES from our room, as well as I would like to see those myself.

We are thinking about going down in October and would like to stay at the CR then. Does anyone have suggestions about getting a great rate for the tower at CR? I am not an AP holder nor AAA member so I guess those two options are out. I can wait to see what the code rates may be then, but does anyone know what type of rates have been given for the CR with a code?

Thanks for anyone who might can help. I may have already answered my own question but it doesn't hurt to ask since there are so many different minds and experiences on this board.

I am looking forward to my first Disney stay at CR Tower in May. I'm staying for 7 nights and it was well worth it to paying the joining fee for AAA as I'm saving almost $300 (less my AAA fee which I forgot how much...around $65 maybe??). So net was I'm still saving money and by booking it with AAA I was still able to get my discount on the room and get the dining plan that I wanted as that will save us close to $200.

Sorry I can't help you with the codes part of your question but just know that worst case you can join AAA and probably still come out ahead.
