We are planning a trip for Spring Break and DH will be coming with us. He is a picky hotel person so I'm trying to find a nice hotel within walking distance so that he will enjoy our trip! I've narrowed it down to the Anabella hotel and the Hilton Anaheim - can y'all give me some info such as do we HAVE to use ART or how far is the walk (and shortcuts if you have them!!!), are the rooms noisy, cleanliness and how is the internet service etc.

Anabella is a motel, with the doors opening to the parking lots. If you get a bottom floor room, the floors will be wood, which is lovely. I hate the idea of carpet in a hotel room now, since I stayed there! I didn't notice much noise from other rooms. The staff were really nice when we stayed there. They have a parking charge if you have a car. They have two pools, one is the quiet pool for adults and it looks very pretty as you're walking past it. I never saw the other pool.

To get to the parks, you walk out to Katella, get to the crosswalk, cross. Walk along Disneyland Drive (I think? or Disney Way? it'll be obvious) in the lush surroundings (which is, if you googlemap it and get the satellite view, a big giant "hidden" mickey of sidewalk). Pass Paradise Pier Hotel, continue on the right to turn into the Grand Cal's sidewalk. Enter the Grand, go left down a hall that will ultimately pop you out in the last quarter or so of DTD, continue through to bagcheck and the parks. If you're not entering DCA in the early hours, you can very likely go through the GCH/DCA entrance, b/c even though it's officially only for PPH/GCH/DLH guests, they generally only block it during the early hour or two.

The Hilton is a hotel, where all corridors are indoors. I was only there for about 6 hours one day, from around midnight to 5ish (adding in some time on either side to equal 6 hours). It's a convention hotel. When we arrived, it was crazy busy with conventioneers in the lobby and outside the doors smoking where you pull up in your car. But the rooms were quiet. The halls were LONG. The parking fee is something like $15 per day.

I know no shortcuts, because we were only there for our night before PPH stay, and left early early to go check in to PPH so we could take part in Magic Morning. :)

Hey thanks for the info! But DH decided he wants to stay at Crowne Plaza. It isn't within walking distance and not on ART but he only comes with us once a year so I guess we can deal with it for a few days! I appreciate your help though!!!

Oh that crazy hubby. I think the Crowne has a high parking fee too, though I might be thinking of something else. Be sure to check, if you have a car! Which I assume you will; otherwise how will you get there? :)
