I have been thru MCO a # of times now, but never have stayed at the MCO Hyatt. We have always just gone straight to ME counter. I want to clarify w/someone that what I am remembering things correctly.
We plan on flying in & staying at MCO Hyatt. I am trying to figure out where we go to collect our luggage & then where we go after that to check into the Hyatt.
WE enter the gate & take the monorail to the main area, right? Then go down to baggage claim?

I know the Hyatt is in the main airport area/atrium. I have never stayed there, but assume you find an elevator somewhere that takes you to the lobby to check in. Or is there a spot to check in in the atrium? Is baggage claim in the same area, but on a lower floor?

I am hoping someone can help clarify this so I know where I am going.
Thanks!

In the middle of the atrium, there is a set of 4 glass elevators in a circle. There is a sign above that says "Hyatt". Go to the center of the bank of elevators. Pick an elevator and go up. I can't remember if there is a button marked for the lobby, but there should be. The front desk is right there.
After you get your room key, you will have to put your card in a slot in the elevator in order to go up further.

I beleive that the Hyatt will collect your luggage, but I can't swear to it. It does list it as a service on http://orlandoairport.hyatt.com/hya..._clickid=3c020759-afdf-4568-93e0-000077f1fada

But on another page, it shows there may be a fee involved.

Once you get off the plane, you have to go down one level to collect your baggage. Then back up one level to catch the elevator to go to the Hyatt.

We stayed at the Hyatt after a 11 pm arrival. I got a great deal on Priceline. We just retrieved our luggage and went back upstairs to check in.

Make sure you ask for a room that DOES NOT face the atrium. The sound from the terminal carries upward. Been there, done that.

If you go to the link that I listed in the previous post, and click on "Pictures" it will show you what you are looking for. It is way easier than following my goofy directions.....:lmao:

Thanks for the link! We are getting in late too & will need to get the kids ready for bed right away. I wouldn't want to be waiting for our luggage to be brought to our room.

So then the DME & DCL counters are just a few floors below the Hyatt? I would be taking a different elevator though, right?

This should help. I copied it from another Diser a while back and saved it in Word. Sorry I can't give credit to the author....
DME directions
Everyone arriving into MCO has to take a shuttle tram from the gate area to the main terminal. So, when you get off the tram, you will walk towards the center of the terminal area...hotel is around it, lots of greenery and such. If you look up, you will see, in bright neon, Side A and Side B signage. You are on level 3 at this point. Walk over to Side B, and go down a level, you are on level 2 now, baggage claim. Go down another level, to level 1, which is ground transportation. At the end of that area you will find DME, past the rental car counters and the Mears area.
It's really very easy.

You will love how convenient the Hyatt is. We always stay there pre cruise and it has us spoiled. It's easy to get on Hotwire for around $55 + tax. We've never had them deliver bags since it's so easy to get them. We usually check in 1st since our bags are rarely there as soon as we are, drop our carry ons in the room, then head down to get our bags. We have stayed in rooms with runway views and terminal views and didn't experience noise with either.

I will try to find some photos.

I've only checked in for cruises at the port so I can't help you there.

Hyatt sign is to the right of the photo. That escalator takes you directly to lobby. The 'tower' that the sign is on is an elevator bank. See the glass elevator just beneath the Hyatt sign? You must have a room key to reach floors above lobby level.

Just past the escalator is security line for departing flights so that's where you'll enter the terminal.

Thanks! We are staying there pre cruise too. I have read that I can check in for our cruise the next morning & was trying to figure out how far that was from where we're staying. I'm planning on leaving DH & kids in the room while I run down & check us in. They can get their security photos later at the port.

Where is the best place to pick up breakfast b4 heading to the DCL counter in the morning?
