Info about crowds starting week of 8/21

I noticed that the schedule has changed for MK parade the week of 8/21 so I called today to switch around some ADR's. There was nothing available at all on Thursday 8/25 at any restaurant in MGM. This is not even an EMH day at MGM. Anyone else have a bad feeling about the crowds if every restaurant is booked solid??

Ditto on the worries for crowds.

I tried to change some times for our PS also and was unable to do it even a month ago! We are a group of 12, so I had myself convinced that they couldn't change the times because of the large group.

We originally planned to go in Jan 06, but changed our plans when free dining was announced. Hopefully as the week goes on the crowds will thin. Most schools will begin either that week or the next week won't they?

Let's hope for low crowds and a bit of a cooler spell with little rain. And I won't even mention the H word!

I will also be there begining 8/21, booked my ressies about 10 days ago and had no problem. We are a family of 4 which is easier to book than the group of 12 I also book early, around 5 or 6 p.m. Maybe larger groups or later hours are more difficult.
I booked Boma, Alfredos, Sci Fi, Brown Derby and Royal Table. I would keep traying as that you may have people that cancel or change ressies and your choice may become available.Good luck

I just did my PS for the 21-26 as well. Had not problems getting the resturaunts that I wanted, except for one! I could not get Le Cellier on Thursday, but I was able to get all my other top choices and at all the times that I wanted! Boma, Royal Table, O'Hana, and 50'a Prime Time. Got them all! I think it is going to be a little busy, like a little above average, but not too bad. As long as you hit all the biggies first, like at opening, then relax for the rest of the day, you will do fine!

I am going that week as well...

got that $425 a person deal, keeping kid out the first two days of school...only reservation I have made is for Princess Story Book dining at lunch time...didn't want to get roped into running around trying to keep a schedule...hope it's not too terribly packed...and can't get seats at all....don't care if we ate late....so we'll see.

Where did you see a changed schedule? I looked on the calandar on Disney's site and don't see any changes?

They changed around EMH for Epcot at the beginning of the week and changed the Spectro parade from Thursday to Friday. Closing hours on Thursday went from 10 to 9 at MK.

And just to update I called again today and was told the hours for the H & V fantasmic package for later than 4:30 have not been released yet which explains why nothing was available. I am trying to pay for this to reserve our slot at Fantasmic but maybe it won't even be necessary! Hopefully the crowds will be better than I thought.

We are 12 days away from our 1st trip.
The Spectro parade change on 8/25 is messing up ADRs. It is our only opportunity to see it since we leave on 8/26.
I called this AM to change our Fantasmic from 8/22 to another day - but everything is booked!

I guess we'll go to Fantasmic and skip Spectro.....

New Englander here, too! We are flying SW out of PVD on August 23rd and returning the 29th!

Yes here is one more NE, Mainah to be exact! How funny to see so many NE'rs going down, especially when it is already so hot up here! Well we will be down 8/22-29. I too am worried about the crowds but from everything I keep reading, it shouldn't be so bad, just the HEAT!!

I checked several sites, including WDW, and DIS was the only site that listed the changed Spectromagic parade from Thursday, Aug. 25 to Friday Aug. 26. The other three sites still listed it on Thursday. Who really has the correct parade schedule?????

I was worried about the crowds for the last week of this month, too. Yet I do feel better now. I called Disney literally just a few minutes ago to try my luck at a ADR for SciFi in MGM. I was surprised to hear I could basically have my choice of times for lunch. Good sign, folks, considering we have less than 14 days until we are there. (knock on wood!)
