Influence of Disney

I would have to say "Mary Poppins". I was just a kid when it came out (OK, I'm old). But it was so magical to me. To this day it remains one of my favorite films.

I think that we should start a Mary Poppins club for us "young kids"! I also saw it when it first came out. I must've been 5 years old, and it was the only movie I saw in a theater until I was in Jr. High. I stil remember it was raining that day, and the theater was so crowded that we had to sit almost in the back row. I didn't realize just how much of an impact the movie had on me until I saw it again when I was in college.

But I still can't say "supercalifragilistexpialidocious" backwards. Bummer. Something to aspire to in my old age ... :lmao:

I have always thought that a ride or attraction based on MP would fit in so well in Fantasyland. If done correctly, it could be like tha magical nanny, practically perfect in every way!

The Lion King is and always will be my favorite Disney Movie I was literally OBSESSED with it when it came out. I think I even wore out the video I had of it I watched it so many times. I now own it on Dvd so that shouldn't happen again, I have the whole movie memorized anyway. I forget how old I was but we went to Disney World the same year so I believe it was 1994 so I was about 10 I think. I remeber I wanted to see Simba at Disney World but the closets I got was the Lion king show in Magic Kingdom which was in the same place the Philharmagic is now I believe. I did get to meet timon though and that was awesome. I caught him in Magic Kingdom before he ran off. :)

My next favorite would be Cinderella, it was my first Disney movie and I always loved it and watching it still reminds me of being a little girl.

Wow, tough choice... Cinderella was the first video I bought for my daughter (in the mid-eighties) and I loved it then and still love it now. I loooove the music...Once Upon a Dream anyone? And in a way her story was my story...scary stepparent and a prince who "rescued" me. princess: But I have to say I love the heroines my daughter grew up with, especially Ariel and Belle. Great movies about strong women.

Pet peeve...where are the strong mother figures? Even my daughter noticed the moms are missing. My first Disney film was in a movie theater in the late 60's or early 70's. Anyone else have Bambi scars?
