How young do they take infants at Flounders? Also, did you feel comfortable leaving your baby there?
Thanks,
Dani

Good question - I would also like to know as a friend of mine is interested in joining us - Any information would be great - Cost, registration, all that stuff - Thanks!

Infants can cruise at 12 weeks and are able to go to Flounders at that time as well. I took my 6 month old and he seemed Ok when I picked him up.He was in a swing. They asked me if he was a light sleeper because he kept waking up crying. I couldn't leave him after that I felt so guilty:( :(
However They girls there seemed really good with the babies. They knew what type of toys to use and really seemed to love their jobs. I would not hesitate to use them again.
It costs $6 an hour for a minimum of 2 hours. You have to register on the first day of the cruise. Sign up for everyday. They do ask you to pick your three priority requests and they do their best to give you those. I was offered everyday. If you cancel at least 4 hours before there is no penalty. They will call you the night before to let you know they have availability.

We, too, had our 6month old dd in flounder's reef and were very happy with it. Our dd seemed to enjoy it . . . always came out smiling, and the staff seemed VERY good with the babies. When she got fussy, they were hesitant to page us until they tried everything to cheer her up. They actually only paged us once when they thought she may not have felt well. We went in to check on her VERY often (they have a window where you can see the kids but they can't see you) and she allways had the full attention of one of the staff members. We were very happy and comfortable with it and are looking forward to using it again on our cruise in Feb (dd will be 18 months old then). We also signed up for every day for a couple of hours with our Palo's time and Spa times as priority. All of the times we signed up for were offered to us, though.

Super Disney Dad

I too found that they really didn't page you unless they felt it imperative.Like I said I Felt too guilty but the staff was wonderful and I had total confidence in them.I would definately reccomend using them.

dis4me,
I agree. We normally do not "trust" babysitters too much and only leave our kids with our parents. We were pretty reluctant to leave our dd in Flounder's Reef until we met the staff, got our pager, and stood there watching them with our dd for 30 minutes the first time we left her there (returning every 5 minutes after that just to be sure). After that, we had no problem leaving her there.

Does Flounder's allow you to leave the ship while they are watching your child? We wanted to do a shore excursion that is not suitable for toddler. What is their policy on this? Thanks.

Yes they do. We had our son in there for two different shore excursions. They are so fantastic!

Also, we are not the type to leave our son with just anyone. My DH and I keep him all of the time, and the only other people that we have left him with are family. We were perfectly comfortable with leaving him in Flounders. The staff is wonderful and they will page you if you are needed.

Go and have a great time.
