I am planning my family trip (family of 6). My DH, DD (10), DD (6), DD (2) and DS (10 months). Do I have to add the two "infants" to the reservation? When I do the price is through the roof and/or I get an error message stating that my party is too big for "said" room. Any suggestions? BTW - the two children under 3 will be in a pack n' play. I thought kids under 3 were free. :confused3

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think that only 4 people + 1 infant are allowed in a standard room. That is probably the issue.

You do have to add everyone to the reservation, and the little ones should be free. You might want to call and get some prices that way. The website is a disaster and spits out errors and things that aren't necessarily correct. Try calling and see what they say.

The room capacity is usually x plus A infant under the age of 3. So most rooms would be 4 plus 1 which equals 5. Your party is a total of 6. Meaning you need a room that sleeps 5 plus a infant. This limits you to port Orleans or a deluxe or a family suite. You could also get 2 rooms. (Not really a money saver). You could try calling and asking about this. The other option is to rent DVC points. DVC can have more than room occupancy if they provide their own bedding.

Good luck.

Yes, you do need to add everyone and the infants aren't charged for the room stay but like others pointed out you will need a room for 5 as only one infant wont count. We just came back from a trip booked as a family of 6 with 2 infants. Our options were like above, family suite, POR, and several deluxe resorts as standard room (or deluxe room for big bucks). Or you could try and do two adjoining rooms at a value which may be cheaper than a suite.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to call directly and see what I can do. The price on the website for the Poly went up like $400 per night when I added both "infants". Yikes! I think my DH would kill me if we spent $900+ a night just for a room in Disney. :)

That doesn't make sense. Sounds like a computer error. Occupancy for all the rooms at the Poly is listed as 5 which is what you count as. Adding them shouldn't change the type of room or cost, especially to the tune of $400 a night, yikes! Good luck, hope someone on the phone can help.

I think it depends on the resort. Some allow 5 people in the room. We are staying at the Poly in a standard room with 4 dc- youngest are 2 and 7 months, and had no problem booking online.
