Does anyone know where you can buy an infant bike helmet? My DDIL bought my DS a bike for his birthday. They have a newborn that will be 6 months old in June, and they would like to get a pull behind trailer for the little guy. My DDIL, said that they would not pull him without a helmet, but they haven't been able to find anything small enough for him. Any suggestions?

Also, any idea on where would be the least expensive place to purchase the pull behind trailer?

Thanks in advance!

I bought my sons toddler helmet at Walmart. I can't remember if they had infant helmets. They have some on Amazon for about $17. I would definitely put a helmet on the baby in the trailer!
I also bought my double trailer from Walmart about 4 years ago. It was $139 and the brand is Instep. It held up really well!! I saw a really nice one at Costco for $199. Craigslist and Mom swap boards on Facebook are also good places to look, I see them there all the time.

Thank you for the info. To be honest... I know nothing about the pull trailer. This is all new to me.

You're really not supposed to take a child under 1 year on a bicycle or in a bike trailer, in fact it's against the law in some states. That's why you'd have trouble finding an infant helmet. :sad2:

Thank you. I did not realize that. I will pass along the information.

I agree with Sweet Creams. You're not supposed to put a child on a bike or in a trailer till they are 1 year old. I have a trailer (Craigslist) and helmet (local surplus store), but Z will not be riding in it till summer, when she is one. Here in Maine, kids on bikes and kids in bike trailers need a helmet by law. I think your grandbaby is probably better off in a stroller till he is one. (Another thing I just learned...you're not supposed to jog with a baby in a stroller till they're 6 months. The ride is too rough at jogging speed and jostles their little heads too much. I'm not a jogger, but it's a good fact to pass along!)
