We need a new vacuum (most rooms are carpeted with a low carpeting) but I am hoping to spend under $100. (No pets, if that makes a difference) Can anyone recommend anything in that price point?

I will second a Shark. Both my mom and mother-in-law have one and love it! Much more affordable than Dyson.

I picked up a Bissell maybe two years ago for $79, and have been pleased thus far.

If you can hold off for a month, there are usually some good Black Friday deals on vacuums. We bought ours at Kohl's last year for half price.

We just got a sharks at Costco for $150. I cannot say enough good things about it. I previously owned a Hoover and a Bissell. This thing picks up so much more than they ever did. Most of my house is carpet as well.

I have a lot of vaccuums. One of my favorites is a $35 Dirt Devil that I got at Target.

(My favorite is the Meile, but no one considers that a budget vaccuum - for the money, the Dirt Devil is a great little vaccuum - and at $35 you could buy two! One reason I have multiple vaccuums is so I don't need to lug them around the house).

I love our Shark Lift away Navigator! It has a lot of suction power. Bought at Kihls with 30% off for about $100.

Thanks all! I really want a Shark but on Amazon it was still a bit out of the budget but I didn't think to check Kohls and such with a coupon code.
Also may be worth holding off until some Black Friday ads are leaked.
