Indy to MCO

Those who fly out of Indianapolis, which airline do you prefer and why? I've looking for which airline company is lease stressful to use back and forth to WDW and Indianapolis, IN. Thanks.

We have always flown SW because of low fares and NS flights. Air Tran and Northwest also offer NS flights between IND and MCO. Air Tran currently seems to have the lowest consistent fare being offered. JMO

SW!! Sign up for DING. We've gotten super cheap flights the last two trips to WDW. In 2 weeks, we are flying for $110 pp round trip.

The main advantage to SW is that they are not likely to change flights/times on you. Air Tran is probably lesslikely to do that than NW...but NW is very likely to change on you if you book more than 45 days in advance. The other advantage to SW is their change/refund policy is much more liberal...with the other 2 once you book you are locked in...no changes allowed even if fares drop.

We have used AirTran the last several times we have flown, either out of Indy or Bloomington, IL. If your flight price changes after you have booked, they will give you an AirTran credit. We have never had a problem with them, and they are usually on time or early.

I fly from IND to MCO 2 to 3 times a year since 1992. For the last few years I have flown NWA. They have for the most part matched SWA fares or have been lower a couple of times. I like an assigned seat and I haven't had the problem of schedule changes that others have mentioned about NWA. NWA has 2 ns, AirTran has 3ns and SWA has 2 ns flights to MCO from IND.

I'm going to MCO from IND twice this winter, both of my air fares on NWA is $120.80 rt total. I'm going Nov. 28 to Dec. 5 and Jan. 30 to Feb. 5. If I were you I would check the fares and times that you like and go with that airline. Flying on Tues and Wed are cheaper most of the time.

I guess the cattle call boarding for SWA is being changed. I didn't like the original cattle call to MCO. Pre-boarding was about half of the plane.

You guys enjoy your WDW trip also. Should be a great time of year to go. We have been to WDW each Dec. since 1992. We will be at the WL.

The last 2 trips I've taken to Orlando have been on Northwest. Service has been good, and the flight times haven't changed much. I did get a credit on our January/February flights when the prices dropped - was able to use mine for my whole ticket in September.

Just booked our flights for next year - since we're going around Labor Day, I was worried that the prices would go higher if I waited. It ended up being $257 per person for non-stop and the times I wanted. That's what I've been budgeting for anyway, so I can always hope for a price drop (then I can use the credit for a flight the following year!!).

Been flying once a month from Orlando to Indy to visit our grandkids who live in Carmel. We have never paid more than $100 total for a roundtrip non-stop flight with Southwest.

Always got a DING for our trips.We are both retired so we are very flexible with our dates and times which help us a lot with the DINGS.

Flying Oct 25-29 again to Indy.

Don't forget to check the prices out of Dayton, Ohio. It takes the same amount of time to travel to DAY as to IND.

We are flying Airtran down to MCO this year for our December trip (earlier non-stop than NW so we are going to give them a try.) However, we are still flying Northwest back to Indy (we can check in our luggage at our Disney resort the day of departure and print our boarding passes as well ... that means more time at the parks, less hassle going to and at the airport.) Airtran was talking about becoming a participating airline but I have not heard that it is official yet ... you can't check in your luggage when flying southwest and for us that is a big disadvantage.

As a Dayton resident, I can tell you that Indianapolis prices are generally lower. Either is much better than Cincinnati! However if the IND-MCO flights are close to full then DAY-MCO could be lower. Worth checking. FWIW, I'm an Airtran fan!

We miss ATA so badly.

We've been flying Northwest for the past 4 trips or so. No problems, except they have jerked around the return flight time a couple of times.

The last time we got a free bump to first class because they needed the space in the back of the plane for a school trip. Can't complain about that.

We're booked again for January. The tickets were less than $200, but I don't remember the exact cost. Maybe something like $168?
